About a week ago, I noticed a very large lump on my pug Scorpius head. Then more bumps started popping up, and now they are just getting bigger. I took her to the vet this past Saturday(Dec 7th) and the vet believed it to just be a bacterial infection and put her on antibiotics...I realize it has only been a few days, and meds take time to work, but her bumps are getting bigger and I just feel that there is something more serious going on.  I've looked online to see what they may be, and alot of the pictures point to Mass Cell Tumors...so if any of you have gone through this type of thing before and are able to help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it. I've posted some pictures.  I will be taking her back to the vet for a second opinion, but in the mean time any info would be great!

Thank you.

Yes, I have researched that Pugs as well as Boxers are more likely to get Mass Cell Tumors; there are other breeds that are more prone to them as well, but I was just focused on the type of breeds I have that I cant remember the other breeds. I hope the biopsy results that y'all are waiting for come back beign!

I'm am new here but I too am so relieved to know that your Scorpius is getting better.

Right now one of the Pugs I care for when my friend goes on Vacation, got a huge lump on her side, almost over night.  It didn't look like that at all .  The Vet told us that it is a possible cancerous tumor and on Tuesday operated on her.  We're all waiting for the biopsy results .  I have a question, are these Mass Cell Tumors common in Pugs.  Are pugs known for cancer like the Boxer is?

This is great news!! Big, big hugs to her. My Tin Tin has also been suffering from something, which later the doc clarified, was an abscess. He has been on medication for about a week now and is getting better. I also had all the possible negative thoughts in my head. So I can understand your relief. Love coming your way from Rusty, Tin Tin and me :-)

Scorpius has been on her medication now for 6days, and I have to say she is almost completely healed. Her bumps are no longer infected and no longer inflamed. Basically, the hair just needs to grow back. All very good news, considering a week ago, I thought I may lose her. But she's back to her normal self again! The best Xmas gift I think I could have received this year! :)

Oh, Aubrey, I'm so glad the new doc was able to help.  We all feel so helpless when our puggies are ill.  Keep us posted.  :0)
