Hi everyone. Last I wrote was May 5th. On May 13th Dave and I were in a pretty bad car accident in our 3 day old Convertible. We were at a dead stop and got rear ended by a truck. We almost always have 1 dog with us, but it was hot and we were going to get flowers for the garden.
Thank God Pugsley (aka Wubby) or the others were not in the car with us, we were hit so hard and had the top down, he would have been ejected from the car and killed. So I am writing this for 2 reasons, to say sorry I haven't responded to any mail and say please, if you take your pug with you in the car, like most of us do, think about getting a doggie seat belt. There are a lot of different kinds, some they can still stick their little heads out the window, as they love to do. I know next to food Wubby's favorite things to do are take walks and ride in the car.
Dave is better, but lost his job as a direct result of the accident and I am still getting weekly injections, usually 9, in my neck, shoulders and back. I don't think my neck will ever be the same. But we are alive and so are the dogs! Again, please think about doggie seatbelts. Our dogs are like our kids and we make them buckle up!

Welcome back!  Hope your insurance paid well.  Sorry to hear about Dave's job.  What a shitty boss!  :0(

My grandpa used to say that when something bad happens, we ought to be thankful and pray to God, for much worse could have happened. Am glad you are both safe and no dog was there when the terrible accident took place ! Take care !

Wow sounds like you both are very lucky.  Glad all the puggies are fine, and yes dog seat belts are a good thing to have.

I am glad you are okay and I am also glad that you had no dogs with you. We had seatbelts for the other two but Hektor travels in his dog box. We have a car with something that not many have and that is a rear air bag, but before we bought this titchy one we had Hektor's box immediately behind my Husbands seat. We had the rear seats down and him well back from the rear. I have always been very aware that dogs should not be loose in the car but like you we have been rear ended twice, neither time as serious as you but enough to make you think. I hope that Dave gets employment, terrible that he should lose his job for something which was not his fault. I agree totally with you that dogs should be restrained, if they fly through the air they will get killed or they may kill you inadvertently.

Wow that is horrible.  You guys are so lucky to be alive! I definately agree with seatbelts for the fur kids - especially in a convertible!!!

We wish your husband the best, it must be so hard and stressful to lose your job when you didn't do anything wrong?!  Hope your neck heals soon as well.  Pug Hugs to you all.

Oh my so sorry to hear this, how awful.  But so so thankful ya'll are alive and no dogs were involved.  Sounds like it's been a rough recovery and still not there all the way.  Good to hear from ya'll.  Hugs to the Wubby.

"Update my boy milo still has them and is 10 soon. Raw diet calms the severity and frequency but he had one just now. He spaced out, got dizzy and flopped over onto his side. Went rigid for ten seconds and back to normal"
