Social network for pugs and their people.
I found some old toys of Zoe's while I was cleaning up so Kloe got to play with a bunch of "new" toys and it got me thinking about how the different dogs play with their squeaky toys.
Abbey doesn't play with them that much anymore, Jake used to rip them apart until the squeak was gone. My Zoe loved the squeaky toys when she was younger also and would eventually murder them. We had a beautiful large black and white Shepard named Sylvie. She was powerful and no squeaky toy made any sounds after about 10 seconds of her getting ahold of them.
Kloe has taken it to a whole new level though. She loves to rapid squeak the toy, especially when I'm in bed. She comes right up to your head and squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak as fast as possible wanting you to play with it. Then she flings in up in the air like she is trying to break its back from falling damage or something and then picks it up and rapid squeaks come out of it. She doesn't seem to be trying to kill the actual squeak, although a few have gone quiet. She seems to really like the squeak, the faster the better it seems!
How do your Pugs like to play?
PS: Abbey, Jake, and Sylvie aren't pugs, but I included them anyways since they are in the pack! :)

Comment by The Wee Woman on January 21, 2013 at 10:02am Hektor had a really sweet moment when he was small. We were watching a wildlife programme on the crocodile and the babies were squeaking for their Mum. Hektor took one look and very slowly went and picked up all his toys and put them one at a time behind my Husbands feet. Oh how we wished we had got a video of him, it was priceless. Mind you it has been a salutary lesson, we have a great deal of trouble with him getting to watch wildlife programmes as he has the Ladybird Book of things I can kill and we worry that the television will hit the floor.
Comment by Monica Morann on January 17, 2013 at 7:55am Mine also tear apart the toy, then fight over the dead squeeker lol.
When Tin Tin was a baby, he was wonderful with toys. He would just nibble at them, hug them and go off to sleep. Am not sure anymore LOL!!! Rusty's company may have spoilt him. Rusty has been the toy-slayer since he came to us as a 45 day old baby. The first time we got him a frisbee, it took him under 10 seconds to shred it to bits. The number of toys Rusty has demolished is quite a bit. Sqeaky toys, chew toys, kongs, you name it. Strangely, he has not destroyed any balls (they still have all of them in tact and play fetch very often)...
Comment by Elena on January 14, 2013 at 6:27am Petunia never liked squeaky toys. She used to be afraid of loud noises as a puppy. But she has very strong jaws and always loved rope toys. When she was younger she used to clamp down on them so hard that you could lift the toy and she would hang on by her teeth.
calla loves toys! and she murders them all! and when I take the toy box to wash the toys she whines! Bentley likes the toys when Calla is sitting on my lap and Bentley wants to be there he takes a toy and "pretends" to play with it un till Calla gives up the spot!
Comment by Di's spoiled kids on January 13, 2013 at 6:44am I have to clean up every night' and each time I do there seems like there are more.
Comment by Konrad Jaschke on January 13, 2013 at 12:00am Fran, I know how that is. I put all of Kloe's toys away and then 2 seconds later they are all over the place again! :)
Kloe sound just like her mon Bebe. You know they had plenty of toys when you came. What funny is they drag them out side, I pick them up and put them in a buckit they drag them out and then bring them back in the house. Toys and shoes.
Comment by Konrad Jaschke on January 12, 2013 at 4:05pm Kloe loves the stuffing as well. I have to take it away once she gets to that point.
And she is an absolute killer of paper and cardboard. She could be a paper shredder for a company. I gotta give her a bunch of paper one day and let her rip it up and then do one of those shaming pictures. It would be funny!
Comment by Di's spoiled kids on January 12, 2013 at 3:55pm mine get some of the squeakies out, some they leave alone. the ones still inside a toy no longer squeak. my moms dog (corgi) has a toy for about 10 minutes, and it is dead, so yes they are all different. oh and mine would rather pull out stuffing instead of the squeaker LOL
