She had surgery around 11:00 a.m. & we just called & they said she did great, and that she is still groggy but that she is looking at them wagging her tail lol. They said they had to go ahead & do the lazer surgery on her because she is STILL in heat! This is going on two & 1/2 months now. So we are glad w/the choice we made now to go ahead & get it done, for health reasons for Shini. We get to go pic her up in a  bit. Also I went to the surgeon today & my leg looks fantastic as well. And he has released me to get out of  the bed & no longer have foot elevated 24/7. So excited!  May actually walk again after two yrs. Hope you all are having a fantastic day. Don't forget to hug your pugs!

Thanks Wee Woman. We have wondered if any other dog had been through this heat cycle like Shini did. Yesterday she couldnt jump on the couch as she usually does, we had to pick her up & put her on couch. But this a.m. she jumped right up & then onto back of couch (her favorite place to sit) w/ease. Her treat jar is getting a bit low, so today we are going shopping for her treats. But we are thinking that maybe we should go for the healthy treats more this time, as we are afraid she will put on much weight. She's already chubbyfied as it is. And the only veggie she will eat is carrots, but LOVES them. And she LOVES bananas as well. Is it true that they will put on weight after being fixed like we have heard?

Great news all round Cherokee, but take your time, slow and steady and you will get there. Glad Shini is fine and really the best thing. We had a friend who moved to the US a couple of years ago, Colorado Springs to be exact and her Poppy the Cavalier had a similar problem to little Shini and they had to get her done asap. Hektor, well he was done at just 6 months because they discovered that his missing testicle was lodged in his abdomen and would never descend. He was bouncing when he came hime, but it is not as big an op for the boys as the girls.

Oh & yes Pam I got a little ahead of myself there for a bit & had to prop the leg back up to get swelling down. Am just soooo anxious to walk again, heck I'm ready to run & go bicycling again. LOL

Thank you Di & Pam. She is doing great today. Pretty much back to old self as the day has progressed. She was a little slow yet when we woke up this a.m. but she still insisted to take her walk to the Post Office w/daddy. He said she done great but walked slowly. She even had an elderly lady at Post Office make over her & tell her in a frail voice (as Mike retold it LOL) that she was sure a beautiful little thang!

Great news Cher!!!  I know that feeling of relief all too well and can only imagine how happy you must feel!  I'm glad everything went well and she will be back to herself in no time!  I'm glad you are recovering nicely as well but like Terri said, don't over do it.  Sometimes we don't feel the pain or think anything of it at the time but then we feel it afterwards.  Have a wonderful day!
