Update!!! *************Her name is "Maya"****************
She has been home for 3 days now and she is as quick as a whip! We have a wonderful routine already. She goes to bed around 9-10ish and sleeps til 3-4ish...out to potty/poopoo and back to sleep next to by bed in a basinette playpen and up again around 6ish. She loves her fleece blanket and has already taken ownership of most of my house! She is VERY good about doing her business when we go outside...even though it is already getting down to 20-30ish degrees....yuck. When she's done she runs to me and I scoop her up and love on her to praise her and warm her up. She is navagating the steps outside and one large drop into our livingroom very well. The only room in the house with carpet is the livingroom....her favorite room. She is transitioning from her previous food (Iams puppy) to her new food (Natural Balance) very well....a few kibble at a time. I still soak it in warm water before she eats. It seems too hard for her still...she is only 7 1/2 weeks. She gets plenty of water from her food being soaked but, I would like to see her drink from her dish of water too. Any thoughts? She's up about an hour and sleeps the next 2 all day, it's pretty funny. I have to work twice as hard when she sleeps so I can give full attention when she's up.....glad she let's me sleep at night. Have not used her crate yet.....haven't really needed to. Not sure if I should. Is it possible she may just transition from pup to adult without it?

Kimberley she sounds really good. Hektor was much like that except when he would not sleep then he got really bad tempered, he still does. I think it is good that you are getting Maya into her routine so early, we had problems with his lordship because the weather was so bad and it sort of got delayed. He is good now though, probably too good. He loves his bed and getting him out of it is hard so he sometimes does not go out for twelve hours which we think is too long. He has a box which we have used and he will pop in to sleep if I am doing other things but he also goes up to his bed in our bedroom and he will just a cheerfully sleep there. I think you might find her crate useful when you need to do things as she gets older, because when they get more independent that is when you need eyes in the back of your head. Hektor is a terrible chewer, worse than I remember my other two being and it was handy when I need to keep him away from danger. regards Helena p.s. keep the news coming, nothing better than to hear about puppies.

She sounds like the perfect puggie! I love the crate for my girls, and they love it too. It's their little cave; a safe place that is their own. They each have one. Keep us updated, I love reading about your new baby. :0)
