thanks all for the wonderfull info you have givin me on certain subjects, so here is another Bentley is now 3 months old and I have him on Acana grasslands as he was on puppy Acana but it was to rich for him BUT he still has loose stooles he does not get anything else but bull sticks and the odd carrot and apple peices could the Acana be to rich? or could it be the bull sticks does anyone know of a great dry food or anything else I could try he really likes the bull sticks and not so much nylabones so if I need to delete the Bull sticks any suggestions about another type of bone as he is teething I also don't think he has any intestinal parrasites as we have not walked him yet thanks!

Acana was too rich for my puppy too so she's now on Royal Canin Medi-Cal Development and has no problems. I give her veal bones and texas toothpicks for chewing on which seems to help with her teething. Good luck.

Daisy had ALOT of diarrhea as a puppy. The vet found no parasite or bacteria problems and thought it was probably a touch of colitis. She put her on Iams Veterinary Formula Low Intestinal Residue and we've had almost no problems since. Every once in a while she'll get fed too many scraps of people food or something too rich or spicy and it'll flare up but after a day or two on her regular dry, she'll be back to normal. She gets a spoon of Pedigree weight management in the morning meal but then just dry at night. She's doing very well on the Iams and hasn't had loose stools in over 6 months. I highly recommend the Iams Low Residue. It's worked wonders for Daisy :-) Good luck!!

To be on the safe side, I would have a fecal test done to rule out any parasites as well, even though he has not been walked yet. Although exposure to harmful pararsites is greater when outside, intestinal ones like Coccidia can actually be carried into the home in various ways, such as through soiled shoes, on people who own birds, etc., so their still is risk of exposure, with diarrhea being the prominent presenting symptom.

I have had the same problem with Linus and he will be a year next month. Ever since I tried to get him off puppy food, he has been loose. Not diarrhea, just real loose. I put him on rice and chicken, and that is what he has been on ever since. My Lily has also been on the rice and chicken since she had a bug back in the winter. They both are happy and health, so I am just going to keep cooking up and rice and chicken and be done with it. You can always try this.

The acana was too rich ( chicken ) i think it was for my pugs also. I switched to wellness core ocean variety , grain free, they do better on a fish one..I would stop the apples for a while,i give my girls carrotts and apples but as soon as i gave apples to my puppy who is 4 and a hlf months now she got really runny poop and went like a hundred times..:) so no apples or any people food for her it seems if she eats anything than her food its not good for her digestive system..
