As some of you already know we have a new foster pug named Louie. I got a call on Sat. that a foster family about an hour north of us needed to re-foster a 5-6 yr old male pug. They had been fostering Louie for about a month when the wifes sister had a stroke and had to come live with them and bring her two dogs. Which put the total dogs in the home at nine. Way to many especially since many of them were males. The lady from SEPRA (Southeastern Pug Rescue Addoption) told me Louie had been found by a neighbor of the family that had owned him. She said he had always lived outside and that the people just up and moved and left him in the yard. How they could do that I'll never understand. How he survived all those years living outside in Georgia is extrodinary.

The foster dad Allen said he would drive to my house and bring Louie. OK thats easy...for He said Louie was not a dominant male and in perfect health. His only issue is he likes to mark his territory inside....ugh Well no one can expect perfection. But Louie is close. It is amazing to me how quickly the other chilrens took to him. Like most pugs I've known he settled in like he belonged. They even let him sleep in the bed with us all last night. Now that is beyond unbelievable!!! They don't freak out when I love on and hold him like they have in the past with other fosters. This morning I caught him and Clyde having what we call the perverbial pissing Clyde would mark a tree then Louie would go and mark the same tree, then Clyde would mark it again and so on and so forth. It was hilarious to watch. Then everyone came inside and hubby (James) started right in teaching him bad habits. Feeding him and others eggs and grits from the table. I have pictures to incriminate the guilty party.

So thus is the story of Loiue for the time being. I am to take him with me to the Atlanta pugfest next Sat. He will be available for adoption. Have no idea for sure what I'm going to do at this point. He is so handsome and such a good boy he will surely get snapped up fast. I'm just gonna see how this week goes and play it by ear. I was the same way with Sadie but did manage to part with her. But I will say the others did not take to her as well as they have Louie. To many females in the mix I believe. Oh dear, oh me, oh my.

As most of you already know Louie is back with me. But I thought I'd update his blog in case someone had missed the lastest in the saga of Louie. Seems his new mommy got bit trying to separate a fight between him and their other pug. She really got attached to Louie but I think the issues between the two pugs...both males..was to much for her and she was afraid one of her small children might accidently get caught in the middle of a dog fight. So after much back and forth trying to decide what to do, she decided it was best to give Louie back. I can't say that I'm sorry. When we picked Louie up even new mom Carol said she could see his eyes light up when he saw me. Since he's been back he hasn't left my side. He gets along so good with my other dogs I don't understand what the deal was with her pug...but oh well. I must be gonna keep him because I found myself at Petsmart today buying him a Christmas collar, a sweater, a food bowl and a harness. Hmmmmm what does all that mean?????

OMG Im only catching up on all of this now. What a sad story but I understand what you're going through. We fostered a gorgeous puppy springer mix, and we had a night with her like Marley from the film. She wee'd inside bark and howled constantly but I absolutely fell for her, hook, line and sinker... she was meant to be brought to the U.K (England) to a rescue there but thankfully her first foster mom (who was crying her eyes out giving her to us to foster) (her husband did not want a third dog) managed to get him to come around to the idea, and so she rang me & told me she was taking her for good!!! I was thrilled as I was in tears thinking that noone else wanted her. She is far too big and boisterious to have around our two so at the time, adopting her was not an option for us, it would not have been fair on her as she needed much more outdoor space for her particular breed needs. This guy is beautiful. We have so happy with our adopted rescue, and we can't believe just how quickly he's settled in. Cliche..but it's like he has always been with us. Congratulations Terri for being such a wonderful person and giving this pug a better chance in life. x

LOL,. Well it takes time for pugs to sort it out. Disco was aggressive with both Bugsy and Tia when they first came to our home. It took some weeks before they had sorted it all out. Well and you're right about how they play - I think it'a hoot when they growl at each other and open their mouths and do this pretend biting without even trying.

Here is the latest on Sargent Louie. Seems that just after 2 days new family wasn't sure if Louie was gonna work for them. They have another rescue pug named Anyhow seems Louie was being to dominant with Pugz. Long story short after hearing what ws going on I tole mom..that they were just playing. That pugs bite and grrr and look like fighting but it's how pugs play. Also they were having potty issues. Well it had only been two days Louie was still confused. Also he breathes very loud...again only been two days Louie is stressed. So I told her give it a week and if things do not improve I will take Louie back. I talked to Carol this morning and things are settleing down. Pugz has started giving Louie back what for...I said good for Pugz!! Louie's breathing has calmed down. Potty may take a bit longer..hmmm But it would seem that everyone is starting to get used to each other and jelling. She sent me this picture of Louie and Pugz. Don't they look happy together?

I know you are sad Terri, but you said it yourself, the more that get new homes helps bring poor ones up for adoption, so we all must be happy for Louie

its sad but good at the same time. Sounds like Louie will be happy and doing something very worthwhile too. Hope you don't miss him too much :)
