Social network for pugs and their people.
It was like a little whirlwind of joy entering our home last night. Life is such a roller coaster. We only very recently and unexpectedly lost our guy Orson last week. We are still devastated, and will always always miss him, he was the best dog I've ever had. I've never before felt such pain.
But as life works in funny ways, over the weekend we met a handsome black 6 year old fella that was in dire need of a loving home. His family gave him up to our local pug rescue because he was left alone all the time. They had 2 babies and they were crating him 12 hours a day. He was alone all the time poor fellow.
We brought our little sweatpea Lola to visit him, thinking a pug visit could cheer her up, she keeps looking for other pugs in her reflections and has been lethargic since we lost Orson. I never imagined she'd hit it off so well with this other pug. wow. Usually timid with new dogs she was boisterous and playful, and had a big pug smile running around with him. We couldn't resist the little guy, and have adopted him. When we brought him home Lola was like a little kid on Christmas morning. So very excited and happy, dervishing in circles and happy yelps. It was the right move. And our little new pug "Che" is a well mannered friendly pug who seems pretty stoked at having two humans and another pug to lavish attention on him. It doesn't make losing Orson better, I still feel a terrible ache, but it does bring some joy into a house that was keening. I am feeling pretty thankful this morning.
