Well next week is the big day, Padrona is getting spayed! Her behavior has been really naughty the last few days. She is definitely showing signs of dominance and jealousy towards Pandora the last few weeks. She is almost due for her heat again so i am certain her hormones are playing a part in this naughtiness. Any advice would be helpful? Do any of the multiple pug owners deal with this behavior?

She is doing great now! Apparently she was ready for her heat right before her spaying so that is why she got an infection and spotting.

Hey Celestialraine...wow that's  al ong name ot type...lol  I just saw this where Padrona had some issues from her spay.  Poor baby.  You say she is doing better but has some spotting?  I hate that she has had a bad time of it.  I can honestly say the I personaly have never known of a dog or cat having problems after being spade?  But obviously some do.  Keep me updated on her condition.  Sending lots of love and healing vibes her way.

Well Drona seems to be doing much better but has been spotting, the vet said it is normal in some dogs just to keep and eye out to make sure it's not heavy etc.

Well she has a fever due to an infection and is a bit dehydrated so she got a antibiotic shot, some fluids, rimadyl for pain, and amoxi for antibiotic at the vets today. I will keep everyone posted.

We seem to be having a little setback it's now day 4 and she is showing signs of pain with some growling, a little shaking, panting, lethargic, etc. but she is eating, drinking, her stitches look fine except for a little hardness, and going to the bathroom fine. If she is still like this tomorrow I am going to call the vet and get her some pain pills.

So glad to hear Padrona is recovering nicely.  Trust me she will be back to her puggy self in no time.  Enjoy the down time while it lasts...lol   Hugs and kisses to her.

Yesterday Padrona was spayed and seems to be recoverying nicely, She is still a bit lethargic and sleepy but does not seem to be having much pain which is a blessing.

My three all have signs of jealous behavior when I am around, cannot talk to one alone, and they also fight against each other once in a while, but most times they do love each other.

Oh but yes.  I have two girl pugs and one boy.  I have found that anytime you have dogs of the same sex they get along worse than dogs of the opposite sex.  My girls Pixie and Puga have issues with one another all the time.  Then other times they are just fine.  But neither one of them have issues with Louie the boy.  He's kinda bossy any way..lol  Unfortunately the spaying is not gonna change this.  Mine are all fixed.  Just think of it as siblings, do you and your siblings always get along or do your kids always get along...heck NO!  So there ya go dogs are the same as humans.  I heard this from Cesar the dog whisperer.

When you can't travel with your pugs ...

When traveling and can't take our babies with us we used to have a friend stay with them at the house. She let us know that they spend most of their time by the front door waiting for mama to come home. That broke my heart. Velma even tries to escape to "look for mama." One time it was many hours before she was found -- so so scary. Now we leave the girls at a friends house who has a doggie daycare. They do okay there but really keep to themselves/huddle together in a corner. I'm so conflicted.…See More
