Kloe has so far been a very well behaved little pug.  Lately I haven't been able to take her to work as much or get out and meet lots of people.  Today a client of mine wanted me to bring her in to see everyone so I did.  I forgot how absolutely well behaved she is.  She is fairly good at home, but you have the regular puppy problems and excitement.  Today she was great.  She is excited to meet the people, but when we are standing around talking and not paying attention to her at the moment she goes into a sit position for the most part and waits.  I've never had a dog like this. :)

I was talking to a neighbor out on the street near a very busy bike path.  I was there for about 15 minutes when it dawned on me, Kloe is just sitting there waiting for me and she isn't trying to kill each bike that passed.  My lovely little Zoe would be trying to catch all the bikes, my Jake would be trying to kill all the bikes and my Abbey would be trying to attack any dogs that walked by. :)

She does have one bad fault, all the other dogs have the same problem.  When she is in a car she gets road rage when she sees another dog.  All her hair on her back stands up and she barks like a mad dog.  She seems like she wants to kill the other dog.  Other than that she is AOK!

Fran, how are Kloe's other litter mates?  How is Big Boy with his behavior? :)  Kloe is up to 19lbs now also.  Time for some exercise and a bit less food!

Well Kloe just had her first class of Intermediate obedience school.  She did fine.  It was just a review of Basic obedience class.  They will be adding in distractions now on the stays.  The instructor walked around the dogs while they were on stay.  Then she brought along a stuffed toy, Lambie.  Oh boy the stays didn't last too long.  For the rest of the class Kloe could only stare in the direction of where Lambie was put last. :)  And its only going to get harder.  She might have problems because I think she is a little young still.  About halfway through class she starts to get all playfull and want to play instead of do as she is told.  But we will probably take the class again when she is older before going on to advanced. so its OK.  She has lots of home work that needs to get done now, I gotta find the time to get her some practice before next Thursday.

I think it a love hate relationship Bentley goes at Calla if he is barking out the window I have no idea why but yet they cuddle to

Kloe loves to cuddle with the other dogs as well.  I wonder if that is a Pug trait?  My other two will sit together, but its more by accident than by design.  But Kloe seeks either out and can always be found rest her little chin on Abbey or Jake using them as a pillow.

Well, I might be overstating how "good" Kloe is.  She is just better at certain things than any of my other dogs have ever been.  But she does bark with the rest of them anytime there are noises outside.  And a few months ago she started humping the back of my leg.  Its a dominance thing.  I always look down and say "Kloe!  I don't want to be dominated, please stop!" and then push her away.  Its kinda embarrassing  luckily it mostly only happens in the house. :)

My wonderful Zoe developed a strange behavior later in life, possibly due to losing some sight, but I really don't know.  At some point she got into the habit of just snapping when something would go by her.  My other two dogs got to the point they wouldn't go near poor Zoe or they would get viciously attacked.  Luckily Jake who has very strong jaws won't ever fight back and he just runs away or submits, he is such a sweetie.  But my Abbey was a rescue Chi/Pom and she has always been afraid of other dogs for some reason.  In fear she attacks.  So Zoe and Abbey would get into these awful fights for no reason.  I started having to make sure Zoe was separate from the others when I wasn't at home.  And the saddest thing was Zoe loves cuddling up with the other dogs.  She probably couldn't understand why they didn't really want to be with her anymore.

But we worked it out and got to some kind of a balance in the house.

I can only wish that Ginger was half as well behaved as Kloe.  Ginger barks at everything even my sons in the house when ever they go up or come down the stairs from their rooms.  She has definite road rage and goes kujo if we go thru a drive thru joint.  She constantly humps sweet Puga and tries to assert herself with all the other in the pack.  She is so aggressive.  She turned one in late Dec and weighed between 15-16 lbs at the vet the other week.  She wouldn't stay still long enough to get exact reading...lol  I have never had a dog like her before.  I have no clue what to do to get her to stop this behaivor.  I guess I need to take her to some obediance class.  On the cat poop issue.  Puga nd Pixie used to do that and still would I'm sure.  I moved cat and cat box to the basement and have a child gate to keep them apart at the stairs.  Poor kitty :(  My Pixie used to be somewhat aggressive with Puga but never with people.  She finally settled down after she turned two.  All I can do is hope and pray Ginger will too.  We have friends and neighbors that have a horrible toy snauzer that everybody hates due to it's aggressvie behaivor.  I really don't want Ginger to be the dog people talk about like they do that one.  :(

pugs! Bentley barks at people out of the car to and Calla eats Bentley s poop! so dont feel bad about the cat poop we have to baby gate the basement so the dogs cannot go down to the litter box for "treats" but we also have to make sure we clean up poop rt after and now that we have a Chinook Calla has princess paws and will not step on the grass therefor we must walk her to poop or she does it in the house behind the kitchen table. "she trys to hide it" lol

Well she is only 8.5 months old so I'm guessing there is still some weight to go.  But we will keep it under control if at all possible.  She has started in on some picky eating.  Anything I give her is no good and anything I have or the other dogs have is good.  She also just learned today that pills are not actually treats and they should be spit out whenever possible, up until today it was easy to give her the pills for her ear infection.  Today they got spat right out!.  So she does have some bad habits creeping in.  Grrrrrrrr.......

Mine are very hyper with new people for only about 5 minutes, then they plop themselves down on my feet and just sit there for as long as I'm there. But mine are 25+ lbs, fat and lazy lol  So yours being 19lbs is GOOD!!! Kloe sounds like a very well behaved pug

I think that Kloe is a very good Pug. I cannot stand and talk to anyone for very long because should anyone have the temerity to enter the cordon that Hektor has decided is his protection zone, all hell breaks loose. Then even if there are other dogs there. It becomes his area and nobody can hear themselves or anyone else for that matter. So Kloe, you get my seal of approval. My two previous Pugs would sit quietly at my feet but not the big man. As for other dogs, well depending on how he is feeling, he will either be friends or try and kill them. I do know those on his hit list but sometimes he lets me down big time. He has one or two humans he has decided  to dislike also, one is a lady who wears white mittens and power walks, and two Chinese people cross the road when they see us coming (how utterly embarrassing) he takes dislikes to pushchairs (baby buggies) also and he gets put on the leash just in case nowadays. As for the cat poop Konrad, I have the same problem, yeugh. Ask LA Mom, she has a cure for that. I cannot get it here nor could I try it given Hektor's problems.

Gross or not, naughty or not, we love them to bits, dont we? If my hubby and I are deep into a conversation and do not pay Tin Tin any heed, he starts with a gentle moan, which soon turns to a louder whining... and before you know, he is pawing my hubby and clambering up his knees/calves. He especially hates it if my hubby is at the computer for long and ignoring him. With me, he is not so attention seeking, although when it comes to snuggling and cuddling he prefers me. Earlier he used to be a bit of a self-proclaimed rowdy on the streets, trying to set chase to people etc. Now he has mellowed down and usually ignores passers by, but once in a while he remembers his good old days and tries to chase the odd guy. Rusty is a gentleman through and through and totally well behaved. It is just that when someone comes over, he gets really happy and tries to put is forelegs on the visitor's shoulders and lick their cheeks and many a visitor gets intimated by Rusty's sheer size. But after the first five minutes he just settles down at their feet and is simply happy being there.
