Kloe is off to Advanced Training on Thursday

Wish her luck!  These 6 classes concentrate on off leash commands.  Oh boy!  This is going to be a tough one.  Actually Kloe isn't too bad right now.  She listens fairly well.  Bu if she sees something like another dog she is gone.  We will see if we can get by that problem!

So far we are doing great.  We have just learned a moving sit and down.  Basically as the dog is heeling you give the sit or down command and you keep moving.  The dog is supposed to sit or go down.  When you are about 10' away you give the heel command and the dog comes back to heel and you continue on your way.

Her heeling without a leash (I just drop the leash on the ground and we walk around the block) is coming along really well.  When she gets our of position I can now redirect her with just some verbal commands and my left hand pointing where she should be.

Its lots of fun as you see your dog get better and better at things.  It is soooo nice having a dog that isn't constantly pulling at the leash.  Of course any distractions and she is off, but I'm hoping eventually she will listen to all my commands.  Its so much safer for her if I can get her to stop instantly when there is something dangerous.  Don't know if we will ever get to that point, but will see.

One person in the class commented on how Kloe is the smartest Pug she has ever seen.  Well, I took a bit of an offense for all pugs, but didn't say anything and thanked her for the compliment of Kloe! :)

Kloe does seem very smart.  Her only real problem is she is scarred of any sudden movement and most strange sounds.  But I'm slowly getting her used to these things.  She isn't nearly as bad now as she was just 6 months ago.
