I just got her a new proper collar for school.  Tonight is her first class.  I'll post how it goes.  I won't have any pictures since I'll be concentrating on learning as well, but I'll post how it goes.  Wish Kloe good luck.  I'm hoping we have a natural learner here.  We can go on to agility training? :)  Or just back to the couch, we will see how trainable I am as well.

Kloe graduated with no problems, she did great!!!  We are on to basic obedience next month!  Its commands without treats, sounds tough for a pug, but I had already been trying that with Kloe and she seems not too bad.  Its hard if there are distractions though.  The treat gets rid of most distractions.  I posted lots of pics so go have a look if you want.  I took a lot of blurry pics, thats what you get for trusting automatic. :)  But I still got a bunch of nice ones as well.

Last night of puppy school, its exams today!  I'll bring the camera and try and get some pictures.  Maybe by the weekend I'll have a video of Kloe showing off all she has learned?  Just need to stock up on treats! :)

Wish us luck!

Konrad glad to hear that Kloe is doing so well, and that she is getting ready for exams

We just had a break through on the Down command.  I was getting discouraged since she just was not associating the command with what I was showing her to do.  So I had a look on the internet to get a few more ideas.  Then I sat on the floor with Kloe and tried a few things.  I finally found a way to do it.  Luckily she isn't a puppy that doesn't like to go down on the floor on all fours so it was easy.  I put the treat in the palm of my right hand and then showed it to her.  Then I lowered my hand down to the floor hiding the treat and saying down.  I helped her with my left hand to go down.  Once she was down I gave her the treat.  At first she was just trying to find the treat.  I did this a bunch of times.  Then I stopped showing her the treat and started doing the command with my left hand.  When she went down to find the treat I praised her and then gave her the treat with my right hand.  Eventually she would just go down and wait for the treat, not really looking for it.

She will probably have forgotten it all the next day, but its a start and I know it can work, I was getting a bit worried there for a bit since she got all the other commands so easily and quickly.  Repetition is what will get her to learn it!  One more week of puppy class and then we have our tests on the sixth week.  As long as I don't screw up she will pass with flying colours!  Then when she is old enough on to the next class.

Way to go Kloe!!!

Kloe is still doing great at school.  We just had our fourth class.  One more class and then its exams! :)

She now knows how to sit, stay, off, look, walk at side on a loose leash, and today she got introduced to down.

I'm fairly sure I'll be taking Kloe to Basic training when she is old enough and we will see where that takes us.  She is really one of the better dogs at the class although they all seem to be doing very well.  I'm amazed still at how even tempered she is.  And so well behaved.  I wish she could be a mom and pass on her gene's, but there is no way I'm doing any birthing, I'd be a nervous wreck! :)
