IN MEMORY OF SOUFFLE 5/21/1999 to 8/06/2012

This morning Souffle went to the Rainbow Bridge.  She wanted to give life one more galant chance but her time had come.  She was not about to cross the bridge without one more fight.  She loved life and didn't want the glaucoma to get the better of her but God had other plans and called her home.

She was a beautiful spunky gal.  She made sure breakfast and dinner were on time every day, that she went outside when she demanded and enjoyed sitting with the family.  She will wait at the Rainbow Bridge for the rest of her foster family to arrive.  She is now laying in the sunshine and sniffing the flowers.  God said she needed to rest now - her purpose on earth is done.

Beautiful baby, so sorry for your loss.

Karen, I was so very shocked to see your blog this morning.  I really did not expect that to happen.  Words cannot express my deepest sympathy for you and your family during this time.  I know how much she meant to you and please know that you did not give up on her.  You gave her a second chance and she fought like a champ.  She is no longer suffering and although we all wish she were still here, she lived a long life and ended up with a wonderful family who cared about her and loved her like no other.  She has joined all of the other Pugslife angels and is running free.  You have written a beautiful memorial and tribute for her and it will be so special for you to have her ashes and distribute them as mentioned.  Thinking of you guys and sending you wishes of peace and comfort.  We are here for you if you need anything!

My heart felt condolences!!! Am sure she is in a much better place now - A place that knows no sorrow, no pain, no evil and no bad things. And one day all of us shall anyway be reunited :-)

I had her for about a year Pugnacious.  Thanks Di, and yanno even if I scooped her up and tried to put her in the car to go to a vet that might have been painful as well plus the car ride or maybe she would have died in the car.  Hernan, you made me smile with your comment.

Thanks Konrad, Bebe Julie and Terri.  Your words and photos mean alot.

Aww Karen that will be so nice to put her in your garden.  And the fact that she went on her own is sad, but at least you did not have to make that discission.  She is in such good company up in heaven, she has so many to run and play with, all who were loved as much as she was.

I stayed home with her all this past weekend after bringing her back to the animal hospital on Friday evening.  I bought her every food under the sun to help her eat.  Last night she actually was a bit spunky and wanted out of the cage.  I took her outside and then let her walk around the house a bit.  She settled into the family room with the family in her usual spot next to the couch.  This am was different.  She was panting and breathing hard so I gave her some pain medicine as usual but she was probably going into heart failure as I look back.  I'm sad she was home alone when it happened but must have happened quickly as I ran home after a couple of hours at work to check on her.  Given she was getting better it is a dramatic turn of events.  The surgery was too much for her but it was either try or put her to sleep with the glaucoma before her eye ruptured.

Thank you everyone for your support - it really means alot.  I'm here at work but sure don't feel like being here.  I brought her to the funeral home that OPR uses so she will be cremated and put in an urn.  I think I'll spread her ashes in my garden or make a little burial site.  Not sure yet.

Oh no, I am so sorry.  We have all lost loved pugs.  Recently I lost my Zoe, she was about the same age as your pug and she lived a few years with one eye.  The tears come everytime I think of her.  And now your little girl is gone and the tears flow!  I better give my new little girl, Kloe, a hug right now.  When you feel up to it please share more with us about your girl's life.  I did that when my Zoe passed, it didn't make anything better, but I felt good about others getting to know how great she was and maybe she was able to make someone feel good one more time.
