Hi,has anyone ever washed there pug with head and shoulders shampoo? As some of you know Jade has had a yeast infection on paws and in ears.Ive gotten the ears all better and continue with bathing and cleaning with apple cider vineger and coconut oil.Her paws are taking longer, which means there is yeast on other parts of her body.I went looking for a medicated dog shampoo but didnt find any that seemed all that great and a lot had sulfer and or zinc..which got me to thinking head and shoulders,my son had some at home...it worked fabulous for all Jades itchys, butttt the weirdest thing is right after her shampoo even before she was dry or brushed there were white flakes coming off her! Today she is still flaking even as i brush her.Im not sure if she had a worse skin problem than i thought or what. Her fur and skin have always looked and felt great, but she is black and its kinda hard to see any rashes and such..If anyone is familiar with any of this please let me know,thanx..:)

Thanks Keren. My vet finally got back from vacation and i was able to get some medicated shampoo and some antibiotic ointment for her ears. She did tell me that head and shoulders  was ok to use and the apple cider vinegar was great for the ears also.Di,i used some Hibiclense mixed with shampoo.it has the same ingredient as the shampoo you use ,just a different strenth. It worked well also.Im set for a while now with the goods if this is ongoing with Jade.I also rubbed some of the ointment on Mooshes wrinkle as she is always itching it cause no matter how often i clean and dry it..it stays moist and yucky..it has been working there too.And...i have to have my girls anal glands emptyed every few months..and they still come home and scoot on the carpet every now and then,so on went some oinment there and no scooting..they all could have had some yeast in some funky places, lol.

This might get pricey but you might also think about rubbing some oregano oil into the yeast areas - maybe tackle a little at a time.  I cured Dali's wrinkle infection with that after a week.

Makes me so made, I had a whole thing typed for you, went to copy and paste the web site, and deleted my whole comment.  I think you will get the idea of what I was trying to tell you.  Good Luck

Tracy go to this web site http://www.entirelypets.com/vitalitymedshampoo16.html.  This is the same shampoo I am using on Lizzy.  She has the white flaky skin, and my vet told me to use this shampoo, my is called something else, but I looked on line for it as the vet is expensive.  This has the same exact ingredients that what I am using has.  I can use it on her weekly, and it has helped with the itchy skin and the flakes.

When you can't travel with your pugs ...

When traveling and can't take our babies with us we used to have a friend stay with them at the house. She let us know that they spend most of their time by the front door waiting for mama to come home. That broke my heart. Velma even tries to escape to "look for mama." One time it was many hours before she was found -- so so scary. Now we leave the girls at a friends house who has a doggie daycare. They do okay there but really keep to themselves/huddle together in a corner. I'm so conflicted.…See More
