I've been asked a lot of interesting questions about my pug resently. Several of the question I did not have an answer to, so I've done some research. Thanks to Google. com and a few other websites that friends have suggested I take a look at...I discovered there is a huge debate about the origin of the brindle pug. There is far to much information for me to try and pass along through a blog, so if your interested in the subject you can "google" brindle pugs, or visit www.puginformation.org
It seems all pug owners have a different opinion on this debate. The biggest argument seems to be weather a different breed was introduced to acheive the brindle color which some people believe....or that the brindle color was always there in the genetic make of a pug. Brindle was not a desirerable color to most breeders so they avoided breeding their pugs with other pugs that had a history of the brindle color in their bloodline.
From the information I've read my opinon is that the brindle color has always been apart of the pugs DNA. I'm curoius to find out what other pug owners think ...let me know what your opinion is! :)
