Does anyone have a problem when watching TV with their pug in the room? If we are watching something and any sort of animal, a bird, dog, cat, even a mouse is on the tv my pug runs full speed and tries to jump into the screen like he can get the dang thing. I couldn't even watch Alvin and the Chipmunks with my daughter until I put Munson in my room, then I had to listen to him cry. He is a great pug, and that is his only down fall. I have tried to correct it, but to no avail. Any suggestions? By the way a have a big screen tv that sits on the floor so I can't move it anywhere else.

I resorted to putting Tina on a leash during shows I know will cause her to attack. I cannot watch scary shows with spooky sounds or she will cry and whine. She gets sooo upset. I try to console her but sometimes I just have to change the channel. I think if I socialize her more and give her more experience in the public that she may calm down. I THINK it might help. She has scratched up our beautiful inherited entertainment center. I love her so much anyways.

It's definately a pug thing, as they are intelligent. Our two Pug's go crazy when an animal comes on the tv and also dont like children crying. It seems to be only certain breeds that can make out animals on the tv as my mother-in-law has Boxers and they don't notice any animals, so be proud that your dog is intelligent enough to make out the shapes...... that's all I can say as i cant get mine to shut-up either, ha ha.

Tanzi LOVES horses too and goes crazy when horse come on as well. My sister-inlaw has 3 horse and when we go home she loves to visit them they till touch their nose to hers it is so cute I thought that is why she likes them on TV but maybe it is a "pug" thing..haha

My Prissilla also loves watching animals on TV, She especially likes horses. She also barks at that stupid dancing caveman. She hates insurance and cell phone commercials. She sometimes goes behind the big screen looking for the animals.

Munson is the same. When he sees kids and babies on tv he stands infront of it and barks and cries. I have been asking around to see how to stop this and what I was told was to have him sit next to you through an entire show and not let him move. I have been doing this and it seems to be working!!

YES my little Pug does the same thing she is super sensative not only to animals but if I am watching something with kids (I like law and order SVU) if kids are in danger or fall down anything like that she will start wining and crying it is awful. I also was wondering if this is common and how to fix it..

Too funny!!! Louie and Mister T do it too!!! They both love to watch and bark at Animal Planet. I was watching one day when they had on a tiny baby baboon that was crying for it's mommy, Louie got so upset I thought he was going to have a heart attack. He sat there howling through the whole show. Pugs are so adorable!!!

Hi, Hektor is just the same, any animal on the TV and it is hope that we get to him before he gets to the TV. He has changed channel before this and as it is a flat screen on a stand we are hoping he does not push it over. I think it depends on how good their eyesight is, my other two never did this but my Mother-in- Law's Freddie was a great TV critic. If anyone finds a cure I would be grateful. We also think that he thinks it is a window and that they are trying to get into his house.

Frank does the exact same thing...any animal or if there's an animal noise he runs full speed at the tv and tries to jump at it and he'll bark and make fussing noises. I think it must be a pug thing ....Our tv is located on the wall where the stairs are and if an animal goes off screen Frank will run up the stairs thinking he'll be able to chase the animal....Henry our new puppy hasn't exhibit the same behavior...yet...he does stare intently at Frank when Frank goes crazy at the tv....I think it's just a matter of time....
