Pug meets! two bad experiences-my poor baby

I noticed my pug had a small bald spot inbetween her eyes right above her fold and started another one on top of her head.I made an appointment . I noticed she was scrathing so much she started to bleed so I took her in asap.Vet said she had a small case of mange.I FREAKED!i asked how? he asked if she been in contact with other dogs and realized yes!we went to a pug meet jan.5th at the Humane Society and we also went in the adoption pavillions .so thats when it hit me we had went to a meet Dec.5th and ended up at he vet because she had a small rash on her vaginal area but THEN I didnt think anything of it cause I thought maybe it was our grass. Now i realized this has happened twice after those meets and im scared to take her back even though we had so much fun,but the dr visits wern't cheap!!She takes a shampoo -sebolux (twice a week) and Goodwinol ointment (daily)I feel so bad for her,I hate to see her go thru this and Im wondring if any ones pug has had mange and was recovery fast?

Veronica, Your little Bubbles is adorable. I have 2 black puglets; my Lila is about the same age as Bubbles and in looking at your pics, Bubbles reminded me of Lila--I also have Daisy who is 9 weeks old and she is a little vicious devil-dog...she is going to be my loud little rebel; I can tell already. I was reading your blog on the mange, and I go to many pug meets in our area. I keep intouch daily with the other pug owners in the group and know what is going on with all of them, but at a different one I went a couple weeks ago, I saw a little black pug missing hair on her head and I immediately picked Lila up and wouldn't let her near this pug. I'm keeping an eye on her now and when I got home I washed down her head and back with alcohol wipes...not sure if this will work, but we'll see. Mange is one of those things that gets passed along and its a pain for the dog and the owner....

There is a type of mange that spreads by contact from infested to non-infested pugs. Have patience and take your pug's treatment to the very end, exactly as the vet prescribed.

You'll see that results begin to occur when you least expect them. Good luck.
