Halloween & Pug-A-Palooza 2011

Had a blast at APARN's Pug-A-Palooza yesterday. A potential home I did a check on Saturday went home with a darling rescue pug. Makes you feel good! My girls weren't too fond of their costumes, LOL, what pug is? All and all it was a fun pug party and our rescue raised over $7,000.00. Now that's something to be happy about!… Continue

Pug-A-Palooza Quilt for the Silent Auction (Puggies NOT Included!) :0)

This is Buffy's first assignment as an official quilt tester. Sassy Sue & Daisy Doo had quite the time teaching her to look approvingly, yet stay objective. This was accomplished with great difficulty considering Buffy is blind and deaf, but she did agree it would bring in some money for APARN (Arizona Pug Adoption & Rescue Network). It will be in the silent… Continue

Arizona Pug Lovers Met at Prescott's Dogtoberfest 2011

What a great time meeting the real people behind Pugslife's group, Arizona Pug Lovers.  We met at the Yavapai County Courthouse Square for their annual Dogtoberfest.  By far, pugs were the most seen breed.  It was so much fun to actually meet in person the friends we have on the Internet.  That's foster pug, Buffy, in the stroller and my Daisy and Sassy in the background.  I'm… Continue

Here's........Buffy! :0)

Meet Buffy, our 12 year young Foster Puggy from APARN (Arizona Pug Adoption & Rescue Network). Buffy came to stay with us on Sept. 10th and she's looking for her "forever home". She's very perky for 12; acts like she's 6! She's so low maintenance, not like my two spoiled brats and the only meds she has is for dry eye twice a day. Buffy enjoys walking with us, but…

New Pug Quilt for Arizona Pug Rescue Silent Auction

Working on the new quilt.  Found this great fabric with dog portraits; fussy cut the pug in a 4 1/2 inch square and added a variable star.  I'll post it when it's done, just an experiment right now.  Wish me luck!  :0)

What???? No puggy models?????

I just finished this wall hanging for the principal of Coyote Springs Elementary School, from which I recently retired.  It lacks the most important aspect...a little puggy hair!  Darn those allergies; the girls are very disappointed they can't model on this one.  Daisy Doo and Sassy Sue swear they can take that coyote! … Continue

Quilt for the Grandson

Well, here's the last grandbaby quilt. It took a little longer because Tyler has a full size bed. But, as you can see, the official quilt inspectors are hard at work and have approved the project. I even see Mr. Bentley, the supervisor is on hand! :0)

A Quilt for the Silent Auction for Arizona Pug Rescue (APARN)

Here are the official puggy quilt testers approving another quilt by Pam & Pugs :0) Even quilts I make for family and friends have a little puggy hair on them; love me, love my girls!

Meet Polly Anna!

Two weeks ago I went down to Phoenix to pick up sweet little Polly Anna. She's a Toy Story Pug and was flown in from Florida with a pet nanny! What a little doll and such a good traveller. This is the picture I took of my mom when I got home to Prescott and put Polly in her arms. Mom has been in such pain from a knee replacement and Polly was the best medicine! I know we… Continue

Sweet Suzi Q (AKA "Boo") went to the Rainbow Bridge

My parent's 3 1/2 year old black pug is at the Rainbow Bridge. It went so fast; paralysis started on Saturday, and movement never returned. I don't know if it was a stroke or PDE and we didn't see any seizures. Has the vets wondering too, but we gave he peace instead of pain. RIP sweet Boo, Daisy Doo and Sassy Sue miss you. Pug Hugs! :0(

The Puggy Picnic

Well, you've heard of the Teddy Bear picnic, this is the Puggy Picnic! We vacationed in the White Mountains of eastern AZ at Big Lake. We would take long jeep rides everyday and then stop somewhere nice for a picnic. This was taken at Mexican Hay Lake. You can see my girls prefer the chairs when they picnic! :0)

Here's Millie, APARN's Newest Rescue Puggy!

The "jail break" took place at 2:15 PM and we now have Millie safe and secure. This poor little old lady is only 9 1/2 lbs and is skin and bones. She has a terrible skin condition and her poor little ears are packed with dirt. Her left eye is also a bit bigger than the right, so I fear there might be a problem there. She was found as a stray 3 days ago and taken to a local kill shelter. They said she was so "nasty" and was going to be put to sleep… Continue

We're Grumpy Without Our Coffee! :0)

First summer camping trip and we're back to Kaibab Lake. We really love it there. But, before we hike, got to have that coffee to wake up. Sassy Sue and Daisy Doo love it when we finish breakfast and they get to sit up at the motorhome table with us. Always ready for a picture with their little pug looks. :0)

Miner Puggies :0)

This last weekend Jeff and I took a little trip to Wickenburg, AZ to the Vulture Mine. Sassy Sue and Daisy Doo loved it because it was a self guided tour and we could just walk the trails at our own pace. It was a great family getaway and quite relaxing, too. :0)

The Official Quilt Testers + 1

Well the girls were a little put out when asked to test this new quilt....Bentley the cat wanted to help! The girls checked every corner; Bentley stayed in that one spot. Even when Daisy Doo gave him some "loving"! When my family gets a new quilt from me, they can count on puggy hair, too! :0)

Lap Quilt for Arizona Pug Rescue Silent Auction

Well, we finished it! I say we because Sassy Sue & Daisy Doo were with me in the quilt studio for every part of the process. They are the official quilt testers! :0)

This lap quilt is for APARN (Arizona Pug Adoption & Rescue Network) for their silent auction at Pugstock in March. If you look real close you can see the little puggies along with other breeds in the fabric. The backing is puppy supplies on a light blue background.… Continue

The Perfect Storm

I've had two days off with the girls due to this storm from California. It has been incredible; has shut down my town of Prescott! Poor Sassy is very upset that her piddle patch has snow on it! Daisy has to be bullied to go out to do her business, but gets a lot of sympathy when she come back in.

Yesterday we had to shovel our way to my quilt studio in the backyard so I could work on… Continue

New Year's Eve in Sedona, Arizona

Every New Year's Eve we go to Sedona, Arizona. We welcomed in 2010 with several jeep trips and hikes. Here are the girls and me on one of our hikes. They love the outdoors!

Santa Paws 2009

Had a blast at the photographer's getting this shot! Note how Daisy has her arm casually on Santa's belt; they tried to get her to stop, but it's so Daisy! She's one of those relaxed pugs that just sort of hangs out! Sassy of course, as the elder pug, looks serious! My daughter asked me who had more fun, but I couldn't answer. The photography was in stitches the whole time, and I was laughing so hard because I had to stand behind her and say all the… Continue

Waiting for Pam....again! :0)

Seems whenever we go camping...Jeff and puggies are always waiting for me outside the ladies room! :0) This time it was in Zion; we'd just come back from a walk along the Virgin River. Had to take a little break! But they're always so glad to see me when I come out; OK...the pugs I mean! :0)
