Happy Hogmanay or to the unintiated, A Happy New Year

Today is New Years Eve but today in Scotland it is Hogmanay. A very important holiday as for centuries we did not celebrate Christmas as the Church saw it as a Pagan Festival, so not being stupid we plumped for New Year.

I remember as a child being allowed up to see the New Year in with the adults, but falling asleep and being put to bed before the First Foot arrived. Now the First Foot is an important person in all of this and should be tall dark and equipped with a lump of coal and…

Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013

To this wonderful Pugslife family.  Another year is coming to an end, and Linus,  Lizzy and I want to say it has been a great year being part of this family.  We have grown with the older members, and we have met so many new members, what a year.  We have laughed and cried together, watching many loved members leave us for Rainbow Bridge.  We even had the greatest time meeting Jackie and Guido, Karen and Tia, Terri and Pixie and Puga, and their hubbies too.  We just want to wish all of you a…

You CAN teach an old pug new tricks...

Petunia (like most other pugs) operates by the logic "it is on the floor therefore it is mine". So it shouldn't have come to a shock to me that she was playing with my smart phone I left on the floor. But what was a shock to me was she somehow figured out how to call people from my recent contacts. So a few people I had called recently got a phone call that consisted of snorting then hanging up. I guess samsung should advertise the HTC One as "so easy a pug can use it".

Stuff Not Good For Our Pets....

I found this page by accident.  I thought it had a very good list of things that are poisonous to our dogs.  Nothing new, but it might be a good time to brush up on our knowledge once a year.

Not pug related

I just wanted to add this post today as my heart feels so much pain for those who were killed in the horrible events in Newtown CT.  This time of year those poor little children should be running and happy waiting on Santa, but instead their families are in such pain and sorrow.  At least they are now in the hands of the Lord, and even though they are not with their moms and dads, they are safe little angels.  Let us all say a little prayer for those who lost their lives and to their…

About a week ago, I noticed a very large lump on my pug Scorpius head. Then more bumps started popping up, and now they are just getting bigger. I took her to the vet this past Saturday(Dec 7th) and the vet believed it to just be a bacterial infection and put her on antibiotics...I realize it has only been a few days, and meds take time to work, but her bumps are getting bigger and I just feel that there is something more serious going on.  I've looked online to see what they may be, and…

The Furminator - Worth the Expense? A Pug's Viewpoint

One of the 102 dead lock certainties in this life is that pugs shed. A lot.

It’s the only drawback to an otherwise perfect breed. Okay, except for the snoring, but hey, you’d snore too if your nose was smashed so flat you only had 2 centimeters of air circulation!

My mom is always complaining about my and my sister’s hair, and claims she’s designed her whole look to deal with our follicle challenges. Come to think of it, she may be right. Her furniture is beige, the floor tile…

Our daddy was a very bad man this morning.  Let me just tell you all what he did.

Early this morning little Ginger decided it was time to get up long before her mommy was ready to greet the day.  So as is our policy here on such mornings all dog dogs that wish to arise before mommy get to spend some quality time out side in the fenced…

On November 24, on a warm & sunny fall day, Rainbow Bridge opened its gates to welcome Leah Alisabeth Ashlyn, my precious little angel of 16 years as I held her in my arms.   Leah was very special and so unique and loved by some many people.  Leah melted everyones heart and she always put joy and a sparkle in everyones' eyes wherever she went.  I will always cherish the memories we made and she will remain forever in my…
