Shopping for the Perfect Halloween Costume!

Well, the girls were tired of being the bumblebee and the ladybug, so it was time for new costumes. I fell in love with these, especially with the little tu-tus attached. Jeff was not amused, but the girls love to answer the door for the trick or treaters, so they just had to have new costumes! Glad I got to the store in September when there was quite a supply of new ones.… Continue

The Hiker Pugs at Dogtown Lake, Williams, Arizona

Had the best weekend at Dogtown Lake. Jeff and I took the motorhome and the camper pugs and off we went. Heard the elk bugling and hiked over to the meadow. Don't worry, we didn't get too close! The weekend was so relaxing, it was hard to come home and get back to work. But...we have our October trip to look forward to. We will be off to Zion National Park, one of my favorites!… Continue

Bad Breeders

I am quite distraught about the young Pugs dying of PDE. This terrible disease has to be rooted out of the Pug population and the only way to do this is to ensure that when buying your puppy you ask questions. You MUST ask the breeder if there is any incidence of PDE in their line. If you dog has died of this disease you MUST tell your breeder, I know they may not be interested but you will have done your bit to inform so that they cannot say that they were not told (put this in writing) it is… Continue

No more skin infection!!!!

Hey all. My black pug Buster was itching badly at his neck. Under his thick fur I found it moist and the skin thickened. We immediately shaved him from head to toe. The infection was awful. It was about 3 inches wide and the skin was darkened and there was other areas started such as his tail. We washed the areas and used those skin disinfectant wipes. I then put antibiotic ointment on the areas. I cleansed the areas of the drainage about 3 times a day and reapplied the ointment. It took about… Continue

Tummy Ache... Mommy has been freaking out!

So one week into having our precious Mr. Smudge, I took him out on the town and let him roam around on the public sidewalk. He was having a great time, meeting a few people here and there and exploring safe and non-busy areas. We were only out for an hour, and as soon as we got home he had a bad case of diarrhea. I feel like a horrible person b/c I watched him the whole time and I truly don't know what happened to get him so sick.

I started to worry after he kept going runny poop… Continue

PDE

I just lost my pug 2 days before her 3rd birthday and I am devastated.... The pathology report confirmed PDE. I never heard of this before... Is there anyone that can offer advice? Both healing and coping?
