Stupid is as Stupid does.

Ok Pug friends I take the cake for stupid today.  I decided that since it had been a tad cooler this morning that I would take the pugs to the dog park.  They were bored, I was bored, we all needed a little outing.  Well by the time we head out it is 2:00 and warming rapidly.  But me thinks it will be ok, just a short trip and they have water fountains at the park and it's shady.  I'll just tire them out and give them a change of…

It's a jungle "IN" here

I know this is similar to a post I did many months back but I have some video captured this time.  After many many years of saving our nickels and dimes we saved up enough money to replace our living room TV (a 13 year old 27" Sony CRT) with a drool worthy Samsung 59" Plasma flat screen TV.

I went and bought Planet Earth on blu ray and over the past several nights…

Pugs, shaken, but not stirred

Gotta love how pugs handle things. We just had an earthquake here. No great shakes (ha), but being in New York, we don't get them, so our 30 second rumble was a big deal for 45 minutes. So, anyway, I got a call from Max, our youngest (he said Anthony told him how to dial the phone). He was a'scared. First he thought he was having a tummy ache from some weed he ate this morning until he saw the water in the bowl moving. He whined. Then Alexis yelled at him to stop being a baby, because "it…

Pug rescue in Sonoma Co (Santa Rosa)?

I'm hoping someone can help me find out it there is a pug rescue group in Sonoma County.  The lady from the group was at the Pug Social this morning, with a number of rescue pugs available for adoption.  My son absolutely fell in love with one of the brindles she brought (Bella), but I didn't get her name or her rescue group's name.  If anyone knows who I'm referring to (or if you are the lady) please let me know.  As a possible hint the pugs she brought were rescued from an overcrowding…

Our first pug social

Cannot wait--tomorrow is our first "Pug Social" in Santa Rosa!  Gotta give Frank a good brushing tonight so he'll be handsome for everyone.  Maybe he'll meet a few new friends that live near to us--that would be awesome for him to have playdates.

Up date on Lizzy's rash/bumps

Taking Miss Lizzy to the vet to see what these little bumps are all about tomorrow morning, bright and early.  She has a few new ones, one on her foot, in between her toe, and one on her little privite spot.  I feel bad for her, went over coat real good, and she has no flea dirt or anything like that, so i am thinking it is allergy related.  I am hoping that it is not her food as it took me so long to find a food that kept both her and Linus firm.  Now they all seem good with the food, and…

Tin Tin's latest fun game is squeezing into gaps

Tin Tin loves squeezing into all the narrow gaps that are there between any wall and sofas, cabinets, tables, beds, you name it. For instance, in our bed room, there is a cabinet on which our TV and audio system are kept and between that and the wall, there is a bit of a gap. Tin Tin squeezes into that and then finds it difficult to come out. And his whining starts. My hubby or I pull him out and you’d think, he’d be relieved. No sir, he shrugs thoroughly (I am yet to figure out why), takes…

New Pug Quilt for Arizona Pug Rescue Silent Auction

Working on the new quilt.  Found this great fabric with dog portraits; fussy cut the pug in a 4 1/2 inch square and added a variable star.  I'll post it when it's done, just an experiment right now.  Wish me luck! … Continue

Road Trip!

Thursday afternoon, I packed up Guinness, headed out to NYC to get the girlfriend and we were off on the open road, I-80 for all those that are curious. Now, Guinness loves car rides, but this one seemed different to him, may have been the fact that we were driving for an hour and a half before we stopped. He was more than happy to be with us, he was proudly perched on my left leg (his driving position). He was seeing all of the trees, and day dreaming about making them all his as we zoomed… Continue

Rain Rain Go Away

Rain Rain Go Away

Little Man and I want to play

We don't really like your poodles in our backyard

We wish they would just go away, so we can go outside and play.

We think it is so strange when we hear our humans say it is raining cats and dogs

Linny and me, we don't see any, cause if we did we surely would be outside fighting with them to go away

All we see is those darn poodle which just make it very wet when we want to go out and go…

12 Months with a Pug

Before deciding to add a pug I spent a year researching the best breed of dog for our family. I was a sucker for the West Highland Terrier and their coal black noses but the more I read about them the more I realized they were more anti-social than I am. All that white hair looked too high maintenance for me. I turned my attention then to the Dachshund but their spinal issues and my four kids told me it wouldn’t be a good mix. Then my eyes landed to an article on pugs and one year later we…

Giving Frank a bath

Soooo......I need to break down & give Frank a bath today.  Last time I did, he developed a skin irritation on his tail that he chewed raw.  All I can figure is that the (dog) conditioner I used didn't get fully rinsed out, so wish me luck this time around!  Also, do I do it outside, where it doesn't matter how much he shakes his coat but the water is cold, or do I give him one in the bathtub & then have to clean the whole house after because of his shaking?  Decisions,…

When you can't travel with your pugs ...

When traveling and can't take our babies with us we used to have a friend stay with them at the house. She let us know that they spend most of their time by the front door waiting for mama to come home. That broke my heart. Velma even tries to escape to "look for mama." One time it was many hours before she was found -- so so scary. Now we leave the girls at a friends house who has a doggie daycare. They do okay there but really keep to themselves/huddle together in a corner. I'm so conflicted.…See More
