Bienkie, my 5yr old pug, had 3 puppies yesterday, after a pregnancy of only 56 days. It was her first time. Unfortunately one was stillborn and before we could remove it from the box, it "disapeared".
We were very happy about the 2 survivors but this morning when we woke up there was only one left - no sign of the other one.
Is Bienkie eating/killing her own pups? What should I do, I don't want to lose the last one too.

What a day! Smudge is completely adorable as expected, and sooo much more! Slept most of the way home, and seriously seems houstrained already! He follows me everywhere I go but at the same time can be content playing on his own. He will even get in his crate willingly and has pooped and peed numerous times outside! Its like a dream come true for a first-time puppy owner!
Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself, since we haven't survived the first night sleep yet, so we shall see.… Continue

Our dog Buster mounts one of our cats. That cat loves Buster and rubs up against him and sleeps with Buster. Buster isn't so sure about the kitty though. But many times he will get on her back and hump her. Anyone else's pug do that? This cat Kiki is a different type of cat in personality. She doesn't run from dogs. I think she thinks she is a dog. Tina, our other pug, can't figure her out. She likes to chase kitties but Kiki won't run from her. Tina runs up to her and expects her to run but… Continue

Does anyone's pug attack the TV??? Buster, our black boy doesn't seem to care what is on except he doesn't like the Arthur theme song on PBS. He will come running and bark even if it is on very low volume. Our lady pug, Tina is neurotic and is a constant TV watcher and will attack the TV when any animal is on the screen. She also recognizes the animated dog on "Family guy" as being a dog and attacks him.

My pug, Charlie, is constantly sleeping with his eyes open and twitching. His eyes dance around like he is having a seizure or is possessed. Do other pugs do this?
He was also really sick today too, he got off the couch to chase a toy and was walking all whobbly like his legs were jello and he almost fell into a wall. Afterwards he puked like 6 times and had diaherra... poor baby Charles I like he's better now... but still a little concerened... has anyone else had their pug have… Continue

. A somehow morbid, something you'd rather not read on Monday story follows.
I've just finished reading "Never Have Your Dog Stuffed: And Other Things I've Learned"
by Alan Alda. The book is humorous and witty and enjoyable. A really great reading.
The chapter where he tells the story of why and how his dog Rhapsody was stuffed reminded me of one of my childhood neighbors. The guy was (maybe he still… Continue

Who knew that waiting to bring a brand new baby pug home could be so exhilarating? Well, actually, I imagine that every single person who ever brought a new pug into their home and heart knows this feeling of anticipation and joy. It is a feeling that is brand new to me and I revel in it. The only thing that could be better is the actual homecoming day. Which, for me, is only a few days from now. On Tuesday morning my husband and I will make a three hour drive to pick up Lily our eight week old… Continue

Sister Mary-Murphy here wearing her nurses uniform. Seems that the "Big Guy" is not feeling well. After THREE visits to his doctors, he has been referred to an ear specialist! OUCH! Something about a eustachian tube in his middle ear. But ya'll, I have to admit...it's hysterical to watch him bob and weave when walking through a room! On a more professional level, I have been right there with him giving him smooches and lots of love. I've even passed a little gas his way just to let him know I… Continue

After 4 weeks of slowly weaning Casper off of steroids and supporting her with all the homeopath supplements, Casper slowly got worse each day, mostly. her mobility. As I cut down the steroid she got less and less mobile, more stiff and painful to walk and hold her head up. she was walking with her head down... then her right side became so weak probably due to inflammation in her neck and sciatic nerve to her right side. she could hardly stand and buckled over 2 her right side. She was a… Continue

My cousins are nice and all, but c'mon people...no cellular service? You're kill'n me! How's a cute pug like me going to survive without those late nite phone chat-lines? Shhhhh...don't tell the "Big Guy"! I'm already supposed to be on phone restrictions for a previous infraction...which I was clearly… Continue

I couldn't get to sleep last night and I listened to all the sounds around me. I can't understand how someone can sleep when it's really quiet. I have 14 dogs sleeping in my room and 11 are on the bed most of the time. I don't mind the crowd. There is a comfort to having the pack protecting me at night. I can tell by feel which dog is which. For example, Louie has the very softest coat and Maverick has the very coarse coat. Percy has a lump on his back and the soft rubbable ears. Gidget is left… Continue
