Yogi runs around doing the Pug Run and then dives onto the couch under all the pillows, knocking them all off the couch. It's a riot!

Early last year, I was yearning for a doggie addition to my family (which, back then, was just my hubby and me) and today, two babies (read doggies) down the line, I do not know how I lived before them.
And that makes me want to share with all of you the most unforgettable amd harrowing test life put me through last month. I was in between jobs, not sure when the next job would come by, and my husband's work was also going through a rough patch. So, could we afford to keep… Continue

I Just noticed these small little lumps (2) in Linus's throat. Now here is my question, is this normal, does anyone elses pug have little lumps in the throat, 1 sort of on each side. I was hoping this was a normal thing, however, I do not feel any in Lily's throat. So before I call the vet to have this checked, I thought maybe someone would have an answer for me.

Went to a dog show at the college today, entered Milo and peawee into musical sits and the best in show at the end. During Musical sits milo and peawee wasnt too interested because it was so hot. Overall we were sat around for 5 hours. SO BORING. Im surprised Milo lasted until the Best in show at the end, he was so hot and was lacking energy and i was too. Unfortunately, he didnt make it into the final 6. Neither did peawee. He got beat by a westie, a ginger staffie, a GSD cross and a small… Continue

I grew up in a small, mountain community so seeing a tick is not a big deal. However, I now live in the city so I was quite surprised when I opened my eyes this morning and saw a dog tick right on the tip of Jadah's ear in front of my face! We have not been in the woods lately, so I am assuming it came from my yard. Fortunately, it was not yet engorged so I think I got it before any damage could be done (e.g. diseases). If anyone else has found ticks on their dogs before, I am curious to… Continue

Henry-11 months-has slept with me since I got him at 10 weeks. Not once did he have any accidents whatsoever in my bed until the last two months. Albeit, the last two months have brought a lot of changes. I recently bought a bigger house with a built-in doggie door, which Henry got used to really quickly, but it put him on a more independent level for going potty (in my mind anyway). I also bought new bedding for the bed (never buying dry-clean only bedding again!). This was the first time he… Continue

First summer camping trip and we're back to Kaibab Lake. We really love it there. But, before we hike, got to have that coffee to wake up. Sassy Sue and Daisy Doo love it when we finish breakfast and they get to sit up at the motorhome table with us. Always ready for a picture with their little pug looks. :0)

Hi, just wondering about pug barking issues, whether others are having any problems and what solutions there might be. My Muffy is usually quiet but she barks like crazy when the door intercom buzzes or the door bell rings. The barking is loud and doesn't stop until the person at the door either comes inside or leaves. It is a bit embarrassing when delivery people come, plus I can't hear what they are saying on the intercom.Sometimes I have to put her in a room until the delivery person has… Continue

Milo did it again this morning! I had just let him out for a poop, he came running in to me in the kitchen and jumped up to my legs to 'ask' to come onto my lap so i lifted him up. He sat there with me then had a small, quiet dry cough. just a very short one..Next thing you know his whole body freezes up completely, legs go straight out, head goes back eyes go back. Similar to when they have a big stretch after a nap, stretching legs out and head goes back. but he completely froze...wet… Continue

Hi all I have a 3 year old male pug Tiger who has been neutered to try to decrease his aggression. I have 3 kids 11, 4, and 4 months. At this time I do not trust him to play with any of my kids alone except my oldest. He jumps on my 4 year old and nips at his ears, hands, arms, feet anything within reach. He also nips at feet and pants legs. I do not want to have to get rid of him but I am terrified that he may escalate and actually hurt one of the kids. I do not leave him with the baby… Continue

Today for the first time in ages I looked out my old pictures of Henry some of which I put on here because I talk about both him and Angus all the time, I felt they should have a pictorial record here. I also put a couple of video's here as well and it is those that (bad as they are in quality) that reminded me so much of the old boy. His grunting and his noises, he had them all.
I am sad though that I did not have any video record of Angus, we just did not have the camera and because… Continue

I guess Tin Tin has become un-house trained again. As long as he used his crate, he would let me know when it was pee and potty time. Now that he has started moving about freely all over the house and has sort of discarded his crate, he pees just about anywhere. He potties only in my loo though. Any suggestions on how to re-train him to pee only where I want him to? I am mostly away at work during the day and Tin Tin and Rusty play about and amuse themselves. So cant supervise Tin Tin much.… Continue

I know this is for pugs, but I am concerned about my pug's sister, Lucy. She has melanoma. She was diagnosed in 2008 and given a year. We had a 2nd cyst removed in 2009 and she was given 6 months. The lymph node on her neck has enlarged to the size of a baseball. Now you can see a cyst inside her mouth again. How can I be sure she doesn't have a high tolerance for pain like my pug, Porky does? How do I know she isn't putting on a sunny face just for me? I just keep praying for God to guide me… Continue

Took Milo and peawee out to the lake again this afternoon. Big fields next to ir to run about in.. I had Milo on his long lead without being held and he was pretty reliable and ignored everbody he went passed...
First off we let peawee off of his lead in the fields and he loved it he hopped about and ran like crazy to my mum. I then took Milos off to see how he would be, he was fine.. kept up with us all holding his stick.. kept walking..Made it to some long grass with lots of flowers… Continue

What is it that makes me love Alexander so much? He gnaws on furniture, destroys my clothes, leaves chunks of hair over every surface of the house, makes his poop roll around on his toilet leaving poop marks which I have to clean. He is hyperactive, messy and generally a handful. No matter what he does, however, I can't even bring myself to get mad at him. He looks up at me with those big eyes full of love. He jumps up and down with excitement… Continue

I have doing some research on what I really think Linus is. I do not think he is a full Pug even though when we got him (pet store) he was sold as one. He did come with papers, stating that his mom and dad were Pugs, but I just do not believe this. Has anyone ever seen a Pug Boxer Mix. I found a couple on the net, and they look somewhat like Linus only they have the cropped tails. Take a look at Linus, and please post what you think. Am I right, I could do one of those DNA tests, but it really… Continue

I tell you it's tough watching pugs get old. I have two that are pushing 14. The female is quite well, but the old boy is having some trouble -- specifially peeing in the house. Poor boy doesn't even know he's going - just keeping walking and dribbling -- Kind of reminds me of my old grandfather! He is going to vet next week to see if there's a solution, but I'm afraid it's just old age. If anyone has dealt with this in elderly pugs, I'd love to hear from you. And I'll post what the vet tells… Continue

Well I got a bike basket for my old girl Lily, but after putting it on the bike, and getting it all set up, I cannot use it. I am not sure how people can get their special pets to sit in one of them and feel safe, I put Lily in there, and she looked like she was going fall right out. Here is a new item for my yard sale. Ended up taking Lily for a little strolle down the street to the corner and back. She was so happy to go, but those poor legs just kept going out from under her. I told my… Continue
