Yes, this past Saturday we had our annual Ohio Pug Rescue Reunion. Every year two names are drawn and crowned Mr. and Ms. OPR. The winners are on the front cover of the OPR calendar and they win lots of prizes. So Lilac's name was put into the pot and she won! She was so tiny that she was swimming in the robe. Ralph won Mr. OPR. It was absolutely hysterical to see a puppy up there she's barely 4 months old.
Here are some endearing photos of her royal…Continue
So on the 6th of June we bring home our new little boy Corey, then on the 7th it's Marshall's 4th Birthday!!
His friends, Buster the staffy and Ruby the Cavy will be around for a play but i'm a little worried at how the new puppy will cope and if Marshall will have trouble bonding with him.
I'm going to make him a birthday cake like last year but not sure on anything else we can do to celebrate and help them all get to know each other. *sigh* wish me luck!
Well my son from up in Connecticut surprised me yesterday (My 50th birthday) by knocking on my door! I was so surprised, best birthday ever!!! Well he came right in & sat on the big rug in the kitchen (where Takota Tucker loves to sleep) And stared to pet Takota, he sat there forever & got up & came into living room & he started asking me questions about Takota. Remember this is the son who has a pug & is pug NUTS! We were sitting here talking & all of a sudden my son…Continue
So, I cut Marshall's nails tonight. He officially hates me... well for a little while at least. It's always so traumatic for the little guy and I worry he's going to suffocate with stress. He hyperventilates but once it's over he sulks for a bit and then is as happy as Larry again. His eyes also go red, i don't know if it's just me worrying that i think they have gone red or if they actually have. All in all... I hate nail cutting time!!
To top it off, our new tiled floors are…Continue
Any suggestions would be really helpful. My pug Sophie chases cars all of the time. Every time a car passes she loses it and tries to go after the car. I am afraid that if she pulls the leash out of my hands she will get run over. I have tried to avert her attention by walking her away and by giving her treats. She just doesn't respond. And we all know that if a pug refuses a treat she's pretty intent on what she's doing! lol
Lord help us we've been PUGGED! We just got an email from a lady wanting us to take another rescue black pug into our home & keep her! LOL We sent her an email back w/some questions and awaiting her reply. LOL Gosh, we have decided we are Pug Addicts!! But wow it's so fun!!!!
Hello, everyone, thank you for your sweet words. Well all is well here in the Compton house. We have FINALLY picked out a name for the "Dog" he will hereby be called "Takota" which means........."Friend of everyone". The pugs are both becoming QUITE fond of each other. We only had one very very small face off today & that was over Takota wanting the bed Shini was in & so he just went & plopped down on top of her in the bed and Shini got up & did this really quiet bark thing…Continue
Just wanted to post my unhappy story. Do you guys remember seeing my paw print stepping stones, well last night I noticed that some took two of them right out from in front of my house. I had them from when Lily and Lulu were pups, so they are like 14 yrs old, and someone took two. Boy I am really pissed about this, took the remaining two and put them in the backyard, not leaving them at there anymore. In the picture you will see five, I used one as a new marker for my Muffin's grave. …Continue
I'm hoping to hear from someone who's puggy has recovered from a slipped disk. My little girl Abby was diagnosed with a slipped disc on Mon. She's on pain meds and an anti-inflammatory. She can walk but has to stay inactive for 6 wks. I thought I would see improvement (day 4) but she's still in a lot of pain. I'm hoping she can recover without surgery. I'd love to hear from you if you have gone through this. Any advice would be very helpful.
Ran the water for new pug to give him the flea bath & noticed Shini scratching, so they both got baths & treats afterwords of course. LOL Shini runs straight for the treat bucket after her bath, sure it won't take ;long for new pug to figure that out as he in both his baths got treats afterwords. Also he is an angel in bathtime. Just stood there & took it like a man!! LOL Who ever would of thunk it that we have two babies that love a bath. That is a blessing for sure. Mike said…Continue
Boomer had his second set of staples removed last week, but the ones on his legs had been infected. Finished with the antibiotics and pain killers, and I think boomer is making a full recovery. I'm praying for no more tumors. Boomer is also taking a trip to the boat with his family this memorial day weekend! :)
I've gotten a call from SEPRA and there is an older male pug in a kill shelter near me. He will not be ready till tomorrow for pick up. I will go get him and keep him for a few days till a foster can be found. They have also heard about a 2 year old male that may need rescueing from a home where someone has him and is renting the home and the landlord found out and pets are not allowed. Landlord is having a fit for him to be gone. I will keep ya'll informed. I really do not need to…Continue

Since I love this comicbook effect so much I started having some ideas on an adventure for our superhero group S.L.E.E.P. (Super Law Enforcement Elite Pugs). Here is a cover page I just finished. Still playing with the look a bit, not perfect, but I like it. Just added a page of ads and the first full page of the comic...
More changes, added a page to the beginning, change the main font size one point larger, moved a few things around.…Continue
Tia has had a couple of bouts of vomiting and diarrhea this week - won't eat which is certainly not the behavior of a healthy pug. But besides that it seems like the last few months she has been more lethargic, tiring easy - not her usual energetic self. These symptoms would wax and wane. So I took her in to see the vet tongiht and he did a very thorough exam. She was dehydrated and got a shot and some medicine. But he also put all of these symptoms together and is wondering about…Continue
Ours is not the most exciting, but it is good. We wake each morning to mom's alarm clock, there are however morning when we wake mom, but most time we hear that beep beep of the clock and we are up in a shot. Why you ask, well let us tell you, we are hungry from a long nights sleep, and we know mom will feed us. So down the stairs we fly into the kitchen and there we stand waiting patiently for our food. Sometimes mom plays a game with us, she comes down real slow, and instead of feeding…Continue
