in search of a pug puppy

Hi all, i'm looking for a pug puppy to love. i have been looking on line but don't   see any owners that are worth while and want a puppy that comes from a loving family. if any one knows of a breeder or has a liter coming i really would appreciate it. i have the summer off so will spend plenty time with him/her bonding and loving it. i really hope i will be able to join discussions and meet for dog play days very soon. thank you Kerry

Count Down to Kloe's 1st BDay

Much anticipated, long awaited.  Kloe's 1st Bday pictures are here finally!!!

April 24th is Kloe's big day, she is turning 1.

Its actually been a fairly easy year compared to my Zoe's first year.  Probably a mixture of Zoe being my first pug or even dog of my own and the fact that she was crazy as a puppy.  I just can't…

Pet health guidelines during Holidays

Holiday season like Christmas, Easter, new-year will bring us joy but, it could be deadly for your pet. In view of the fact that, it is during this time where friends, family and neighbors gather and consume large quantities of food, socialize, watch kids play, teenagers text and dogs hope the smell from the kitchen is a hint of a bounty for them. It is necessary that your pets are fed what they are supposed to. If at all they consume the party eatables like chocolates, candies, and bones…

Natura Dry Kibble Recall

This is why I feed RAW!!!  Natura is going to pull ALL DRY products with a USE BY MARCH 2014 date.... details will follow.

On March 18, 2013, we informed you of a voluntary recall on select Natura products.

Out of an abundance of caution, we are extending our recall to include all Natura dry dog, cat and ferret food and treats that have expiration dates on or before March 24, 2014. We are sorry for the disruption, but we simply want to ensure that every product meets… Continue

The Weekend

Unfortunately, I wasn't home for long this weekend so I did not get to spend a whole lot of time with Bruno.  I was able to take him for two rides, however, and I have a few pics of that.  For some reason I forgot to take a picture of him from the outside of the Camaro.  Maybe this weekend?…

We are having our first Central Ohio Puggie Meetup of 2013.  The former organizer stepped down and asked me if I would take over the club as organizer.  We have 40 people and 11 guests who RSVP'ed so far so since many folks have more than one puggie there could easily be over 60 pugs in the dog park!  Another member graciously offered to be assistant organizer which is quite helpful considering there are 250 members.

Tia accepted the role of Pug Hostess" and is planning some games of…

Had a long Week, was worth it!

We had family up for spring break and Star has decided that her house is a one female dog house!  Actually she enjoyed my sisters quiet and well balanced dog-The other  more high strung kind of the instigator of the group was too much.  She would stir up trouble every time.  She did not like anyone coming around my sister.  We had a fun filled week playing musical dogs! We rotated 2 dogs in 1 dog out, so that way everyone could play.  Still we had a great week and a lot of fun.  Nothing like…

The Car

I tend to spoil Bruno. Well, I'm not sure you really call it spoiling because because I don't just let him get away with stuff; I make sure he behaves and I treat him to things he loves to do.

It was finally nice enough this weekend for my '87 camaro to come out. My first trip was around the corner to get some fuel because it was almost out (yeah, I now know it should have been stored full with stabilizer added.... beginner mistake). My second trip, of course, was to take Bruno for… Continue

Yesterday morning mom and I went to visit Bruno again.  We were overjoyed to learn that he hadn't had any other problems overnight, and that Dr. Falk had fed him his first meal two to three hours before we arrived.  No diarrhea, no vomiting.  They had pulled his line and given him a bath, of course with that double coat he was still soggy. :)  When we walked in he was sleeping soundly, mom tapped on the cage and he woke up.  You should have seen the look on his face, it was like he thought…

Update: Wednesday

Dr. Falk called this morning with an update. Bruno vomited once overnight despite being on an.antiemetic (stops vomiting). Dr. Falk said that this was obviously not what we were hoping for, but in the scheme of things isn't THAT bad of a development. I'm trying to stay calm, but my instincts make me cautious.

I'm getting ready to go see him now, I'm hoping that he looks as good (or better!) than he did yesterday. So nervous.

Thanks for all the well wishes, the support… Continue

How different are your doggies from one another?

I was thinking last night about how Rusty (my labrador) and Tin Tin (my pug), in spite of being dogs of the same age, are so different from each other in many ways. While it is true that their breeds dictate their appearance and many of their traits, there is still many a thing that is beyond my understanding

While Rusty is an out and out doggie with all the traits that a true blue dog displays, with Tin Tin, I am not entirely convinced he is a dog. I wonder whether God erred while…

Poor Bruno... :(

Every time I dealt with a client at GS Animal Hospital that had to have their pet admitted, I tried to put myself in their place. They were leaving their family member there, and trusting his/her care to us...that's hard to do. It helped me as I tried to be caring, supporting and to understand their behavior when I came to get the pet, when they visited, and so on. Now that I'm actually in that situation, I know I had it right.

Bruno started to seem a little…

Happy B'day Izzy

Sweet Miss Izzy has just turned three,

And isn’t that a wonderful age to be!

Did you have a cute li’l birthday party?

And who came along, Guido, Ginger, Lizzy?

Did your momma give you treats galore?

And did you, like all pugs, still beg for more?

Did you get to play, play, all day long?

And did momma sing you a special birthday song?

What did Aunt Lisa give you my sweet girl?

Come, let the…

Rusty and Tin Tin - the story so far....

As some of you may know, I have two dogs, a Labrador named Rusty, and a Pug named Tin Tin. They are spritely three-year olds, and are the loves of my life, besides being each other’s best buddy.

We got Rusty in the end of 2009, when he was barely 40 days old and weighed about 5 kilos. He was the cutest lab puppy in town and every single person who saw him went gaga over his cuteness and could not stop gushing over him. He was a smash hit at the vet’s also. For the first couple of…
