Penny got a lil sister!

Hi Everyone,

Meet our new family member, Grace.

Wes and I walked up for lunch and on the way saw Grace tied to a table outside. She was shaking in the 35 degree weather, it broke our hearts. During lunch, we decided if

she was still tied up, we would go inside the restaurant and speak to their owner. Long story short, the owner was the manager of the restaurant, he was giving her up. We couldn't resist her going anywhere else, so we… Continue

Hyde and the pit bull

As I was walking from the car today I noticed a 2 guys walking a BEAUTIFUL pitbull around by the stairs. He was not in an aggressive stance and seemed very calm. His owner said it was perfectly fine to walk past them as TANK was both human and dog friendly. I stayed and talked to them for a few minutes. Hyde wanted to investigate what this 180lb behemoth was. Tank was waist high on my husband (who is 6'4") and solid muscle. Hyde walked up to him while Tank got on his belly to get to his level.… Continue

A Pug is a Pug is a Pug

Did you ever stop to think what makes us love these funny faced (as my neighbor refers to them) little guys. They are not really what you would call beautiful or pretty, but to us they are the cutest things around. Why is that! They have bad teeth, they shed 365 days a year, they have bad breath, they fart, they snore, and God knows what else, yet we the Pug owner doesn't see that. We love our babies anyway. Now I am not a Pug expert in any means, but I have had 7 in my life 3 of which I own.… Continue

6 Weeks Post-Op

It has been just about six weeks since Lily had the mast cell removed from her belly, I can't believe it's been that long. Her incision was looking great, 2 weeks after surgery she had stitches removed and has been healing up very well, no redness or swelling, she looked great! There were 2 layers of stitches, one set on the inside that disolve a couple of months after surgery. We've been making frequent visits to the vet over the last 6 weeks for follow up and then of course we are now…

As some of you know, today I had to leave work early to pick up my little girl from school. She was complaining of a headache and was running a fever, so I ended up staying home to care for her. Mr. Foo was estatic.

I had to log in from home to…

Lola the amazing sweeper dog.

I've remembered how I must sweep the floor daily and keep everything tidy clean because little Lola has the mouth of a hoover vacuum cleaner! Every teeny tiny piece of anything on the floor goes right in her mouth! I am constantly jumping up and pulling something from her jaws and of course since we gave her the flea pill to prevent fleas she HATES anything coming towards her mouth! She has also discovered the shiny silver knob on my coffee table and… Continue

All Mine & God's

I first met Queenie in the summer of 2008, a Pug so gorgeous I fell in love immediately. Her whines and cries took a hold of my heart and never left. In late summer of 2009 I moved in with her currant Papa of the day and he “gave” her to me.

Well I went thru the motions of having her sleep with me… Honesty took some getting used to, but it was worth it. Now here we are in February 2010 and my “Queenie” is all mine old Papa has gone from Oregon to Florida leaving me with “all” the Pug… Continue

My new pug Lola, first time Pug owner/lover.

I began my search a month ago for a Pug puppy online. Nowhere in my general area had a Pug rescue and it was extremely hard trying to track down a puppy that would be ready to go in early February. I finally found 2 different breeders who had puppies available the second week of Feb. I looked at both sets of photos and found my puppy almost instantly! I just knew she was suppost to be mine. I emailed the woman back and forth and put down a deposit all over online email and… Continue

Well Linus was at it again. Went to get Ash's last evening, was gone maybe 45 minutes at the most, and came home to the dish towel on the floor, the rug in the kitchen upside down, my purse on the floor with my wallet out, my keys, and my chap stick gone. As I am going around the room finding things, I found the chap stick. It was eaten. I hope he has nice moist lips now, as mine went on a dry spree today without my chap stick. What a little brat he is, but you go to love him all the same.… Continue

I used my pug as a heating pad last night

I had a horrible knot at the base of my neck that was keeping me awake. I remembered that pugs were actually bred for this and thought "what the hell"... so I took my little guy from my side where he was sleeping and had him curl up against my neck, and all it actually worked. He is now not only my cuddly pug, but I think he's my own personal knot undoer. I had to give him extra noms this morning for being so willing to help his mama out when she needed him. :D

Tilly and Bisquits...has anyone else gone through this with their pugs?

okay so we got our pugs only a few months ago and they both have our hearts, but we've noticed some things about them that raise concern, first is Bisquits the smaller one (in my pictures) she has a LOT of problems breathing the doctor said it could be worse but we'll have to have the nose surgery to widen the nostrils and the one to shorten her long soft pallate, so my question is...have any of your pugs gone through this and is there any advice you can offer us? I was terrified when the… Continue

Lap Quilt for Arizona Pug Rescue Silent Auction

Well, we finished it! I say we because Sassy Sue & Daisy Doo were with me in the quilt studio for every part of the process. They are the official quilt testers! :0)

This lap quilt is for APARN (Arizona Pug Adoption & Rescue Network) for their silent auction at Pugstock in March. If you look real close you can see the little puggies along with other breeds in the fabric. The backing is puppy supplies on a light blue background.… Continue

Losing a friend

We said good-bye to Mr. Naumacks today. The tumor had grown to the

point where he could no longer breathe through his nose and eating had

become too much of an effort. He had lost the vitality and unencumbered

joy which was such a large part of his personality. In September we

were told he had only weeks to live, yet we started him on a holistic

regimen. I honestly believe we slowed the growth of the tumor and

bought five extra pain-free months with him. In the… Continue

GGidget and the Valentine balloon

Gidget is growling and barking at my Valentine balloon. Jealousy? Could be. She loves her daddy. Maybe he should have got HER a balloon!

The male pug

What is it about the male pug that makes them little buggers. I am not real experienced with the male dog, Linus is my first, however we had several male dogs while I was growing up. We had one pug Macks, and I remember him being just like Linus. A good dog, but boy was he a spiteful one. He got into a lot of trouble doing things he shouldn't do, but when you were alone with him, he was a lover boy. My Linus is the same way. He is a lover, but he has such an attitude, almost like a spoiled… Continue

Am I stalking my vet?

Hello Friends,

I'm debating on if I should make yet another appointment with the vet again for Lily's rash. She finished up her second round of antibiotics yesterday and is being weened off of the steroids once again. After 2 rounds of antibiotics and way too many days on steroids there has been no significant changes in the appearance of her rash. She's not itcy, I'm sure that's because of the steroid, and I'm afraid that may change once we have a few days on the lower…

We're going for a ride? WE'RE going for a RIDE?! WE'RE GOING FOR A RIDE !!!!

You know the old saying, "When pigs fly"? Well, I think it ought to be changed to, "When pugs fly", because I can tell you that is a lot more likely to happen. For example, Sunday night, my daughter had spent the afternoon playing over at a friend's home and had stayed for dinner. Along about 7:00 pm my husband and I decided it was time for her to come home. Mr. Foo, ever vigilant over my whereabouts and the energy I'm emitting, immediately sensed that something was going on with Mom and Dad.… Continue
