PugSpeak's March Pug of the Month - Meet Victor Hugo!

Victor Hugo's mom, Angela Nabuco, tells us his story:

Back in 2001, we imported Am Ch Bowtie´s Oh No Mr Bill Live! from Pat Hicks of North Carolina and Bill´s first litter here was with our beloved Nabuco´s Betty Boop, the best girl in our kennel!

Unfortunately Betty passed away in the c-section. It was a nightmare! I could not believe it was happening!! Victor was the only boy among the 3 puppies… Continue

Because I've read the problems many of you face when taking your pug out on rainy days, I've did some research and found a Pug Raincoat that may do the trick and make your pug cross the rain issue border.

Dickens' Closet Puddles Raincoats for Dogs

Soft and supple poly-vinyl raincoats shed water and keep your dog dry as a bone. Adjustable fit velcro strap. Hood features elastic collar and tie. Back pocket for holding… Continue

Gracie's potty training follies

Like I mentioned before Gracie IS coming along with the paper training. I still feel that she is waaaaayy too tiny to go outside and potty in this weather we've been having. Carmella can barely stand to go out when it's sleeting and icy, imagine what a 6 lb pug would do. So I'm babying her for a little longer. Well anywho, Gracie is understanding that it's a good thing to go on the paper because mommie is praising her and she gets a treat. Well the other night she had done it like 4-5 times in… Continue

Pug Destiny

Maybe some of you already know the story. For the ones that don't, here it comes.

Having live electrical wires fall on her truck and set it on fire wasn’t enough to slow a motorist in southwest Michigan. State police

say the unnamed woman ran a stop sign Monday night in Van Buren

County’s Paw Paw Township and hit a cable supporting a utility pole.

The pole came down and the wires fell onto the truck, but the woman backed onto the roadway and resumed driving.

Pug Brains

We are not talking about how smart and trainable Pugs are, but rather some serious problems that can occur in the central nervous system or brain of the Pug.

Nerve degeneration and Epilepsy, along with PDE (Pug Dog Encephalitis) are the common troubles.

Nerve Degeneration - this syndrome of older Pugs doesn't have an official name and little is known about how or why Pugs get it. Owners of affected dogs may notice their Pug dragging his back toes, staggering in the… Continue
