Yes, if you've read my status update Lily did get her stitches out today, and her incision looks great! She should be healed up in no time. I have to say she was quiet pathetic at the vet though. They were not hurting her in the least and she just looked at me and cried and whimpered, the tech had not even touched her yet and Lily whinned and cried and made all sorts of noises. The vet said he really thought she was trying to talk to me. I'm not so sure she wasn't. It was quiet a comical… Continue

What a day Linus had yesterday and today. He can get into so much trouble. First we forget to put the gate up when we went to church on Sunday morning, and when we came home about 45 minutes later, he had gotten into so much trouble. He had a rug pulled across the room, he had a laptop cord in another room, he chewed up one of my snowmen, and was laying in his bed looking as though nothing happened. And today he pulled a bowling bag containing two 12 bowling balls weighing about 24 pounds… Continue

I've had two days off with the girls due to this storm from California. It has been incredible; has shut down my town of Prescott! Poor Sassy is very upset that her piddle patch has snow on it! Daisy has to be bullied to go out to do her business, but gets a lot of sympathy when she come back in.
Yesterday we had to shovel our way to my quilt studio in the backyard so I could work on… Continue

I am thrilled to share the news I received from our vet today. Lily's pathology results came back today as positive for a mast cell tumor, HOWEVER..........it is stage 1 with clear margins! Which means she's clear!!!! He removed 4cm of tissue along with the tumor and 2cm of tissue was all clear, no indications of mast cells other than the tumor itself. This means that no further treatment is necessary such as radiation, chemo or steriods. Basicly he said just regular exams from this point… Continue

As my holidays are nearly over, I look back at all the fun we have had with our Pugelicious "aka Fifi the Pug Princess". What started with a bit of fun in my back yard with our dog just after Christmas has evolved into something else.
When I was cleaning out my daughter's things, I found an old pair of her baby bathers. Being bored I suggested to my son we put them on her. He thought that was a huge joke. As I love photography - I took copious quantities of photos of… Continue

Hi all, I have six year-old pug named Zizou and he is the light of my life. I also have two more dogs, a stray crossbreed and a Griffon stray I found.
I am a vegetarian and was wondering if you know about veganism and dogs. I live in Greece and vegetarianism is not very spread in humans, let alone dogs, and vets have not really come across vegan dogs.
Do you know if pugs with all their sensitivities can afford to be vegan? and would soya and tofu be ok for dogs ? (btw, all three… Continue

Buddy is not a pug, but he is the very best friend to my Lucy who is a pug. Buddy is very sick and underwent surgery today for a bowel obstruction. Turns out that his stomach ruptured during the surgery and he has an advanced case of IBD (Irritable bowel disease)...anyway he is the sweetest little Cocker Spaniel and I hope all of my pug friends will keep him in their prayers. The next week is very important in his recovery. I will update...and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have a 13 year old male pug, who is and has been the love of my life. Our first night with Porky (yep that's his name), I was up every 2 hours rocking him to sleep. The next day I bought him a stuffed hedgehog that we named Bob. To this day, that is the only toy he will play with - even though lately he doesn't play much.
Porky has allergies and receives an allergy shot every other week. He also has a collaspted trachea and takes prednisone every other day and tussigon daily. He… Continue

Lily's surgery went well today. Her vet said he was able to move all of the tumor and she did very well. We now have to wait about 5 days for the pathology results to come back. Best case, he was just being cautious and it was nothing at all, although he is wonderful this is what we're hoping for. Second best case, it is a grade I mast cell but has clear margins and all is well and we caught it early! He feels sure this is what we'll hear back, however he can't predict if the margins are clear… Continue

Every New Year's Eve we go to Sedona, Arizona. We welcomed in 2010 with several jeep trips and hikes. Here are the girls and me on one of our hikes. They love the outdoors!

At the risk of becoming redundant folks, too many healthy and otherwise re-home-able pets are being killed every day because too little money is being raised.
It is not so much that people aren't giving as it is that, the pet rescue culture is locked into an obsolete method of fund raising that just doesn't work anymore. GOD bless them but, typically pet rescue are reactive. I.E., a pet emergency come up (as they always will), next thing you know the emails are blasting the internet… Continue

Well... for the past couple weeks... really right after Christmas, me and my family got pretty sick. But im finally feeling better, and have a little time to start putting together some new Colby video's. I looked at a lot of the footage I have, and with just what I already have, I can make close to 10 new video's. I also have other idea's that I have yet to shoot as well. So tomorrow (Thursday the 14th) I plan on making a couple. When I get them done, ill post them here. So be on a look out… Continue

My name is Lily, I am a 3 year old pug (I think that really means little human). I've never been around other creatures referred to as pug and my mom often wonders if some of the unique behaviors I have are unique to the pug or if I'm the only one. There are so many things I do that are funny and unique, I will just name a few....okay more than a few.
1. I love to hear my mommy talk and tilt my head from side to side smiling at her as if I understand. I also listen for… Continue

I always asked the question why we choose one or another dog as a pet. The truth is that there are so many breeds of dogs that costs little to choose ....
In my case I fell in love with the Pug when I saw the movie Men in Black ... Frank the Pug was sicer genial .... but that until now has been many years.
In 2008 we bought the house we live with my husband now is a small house but it has a nice yard and room to run.
It was at this time we think of a pet ... a dog ... but that… Continue

My baby girl, Lily, had to go to visit her vet yesterday. She's had a pretty constant problem with allergies most of her life. Recently, she's had a few episodes of breaking out in hives and has been on constant benedryl for quiet some time. I took her to the vet in hopes of getting a cortisone shot to get them under control once again. When he did the exam he noticed a small raised lump on her which he was concerned about. He did a fine-needle aspiration of the lump and discovered it is a mast… Continue

I live in Australia and we are currently going through a heat wave. It was 42 degrees here and it has been a nightmare trying to keep the animals cool. Our princess pug in particular struggles a great deal in the heat. She absolutely loves to swim, but is not a particularly good swimmer. We have to be very careful whenever she is around water that we are with her - just like having a little baby around the water.
Does your Pug swim, or is it just mine that is challenged in this… Continue
