I'm a 42 year old mom and wife with 1 son and two fur babies!! We have a 9 year old shitzhu named Grizwald, and our newest addition is a Shug (LOL!!), pug/shitzhu named Ruby Sue (or Cyclone Ruby!!) who is 5 months old. I drive transit buses in the city of Ottawa, but have been off for a few months since my daddy died.
How many pugs own me:
About my Pugs:
(Cyclone) Ruby Sue was my Christmas gift last year from my husband. She chews EVERYTHING in site, and there are toys and shoe soles EVERYWHERE, but I'm trying diligently to train her!! It's soooooo hard to scold her, because she's just too darned cute!!! I love watching her play with our 9 yr old shitzhu Grizwald. She's turned him back into a puppy!!
Hi Wendy, tried that too nothing really worked, gave up on the chest but had to persist with the newel as it is part of the fabric of the house. He used to lie there looking innocent and be secretly chewing away. I sometimes still find him there but thankfully he is onto chew ones now. He has an addiction to ones we get here which have strips of dried chicken slipped inside them, costs me a fortune, sometimes has two or three a day if he is stuck in. If Roby Sue is a bit of a chewer I would definitely divert her. Hektor had several small Puppy Kongs, one you put in the freezer to cool, he also used to get one, only one ice cube to soothe his gums. Not a good thing if they have too many. Funnily enough he is the only one of my Pugs who has chewed as long or been as playful as long, the other two just settled down round the two age.
It is interesting to read that the Shih Tzu has been around longer than the Pug and is much healthier so I think the combination in Ruby Sue will be to her advantage health wise and their temperament is not all that different. Hektor had a Shih Tzu pal for a little while, lots of play fighting. Helena.
Welcome to the Family Wendy and Ruby Sue, I bet she is a cutie, I so know the chewing, my little man, not so little now, managed to more damage than my other two put together and I was there. He managed to eat his way round a chest of drawer, small one and the newel post at the bottom of our stairs will never be the same again. So you have all my sympathy. Helena and Hektor
"Hi Sophie, I am sorry to say we lost Hektor on the seventh of November last year. He contracted Glaucoma and at first he was responding to treatment, then he wasn't. He was in so much pain that we could not let it continue. The sad thing was…"
