No Mary, they were made by him to me, from his front yard.  Right next to mine.  Regretable I did not have to volume up enough on my camera for them to come thru.  Otherwise the police would have had them.  Bottom line is Jebbers is now gone, he is a hero.  Had I awaken a hour later (my usual time).  All four boys would have stampeeded out of the door and found whatever poison (I assume to have been placed in hamburger) and they would have all found it.  I would have been putting down more than one pug.  Jeb was out alone and found it and pugs being scroungers he ate it all.  He suffered terribly before I could get him to the vet.  Don't even wish to think about it.  He is now with his Daddy and has tons of squeakies to play with.  This scumbag will get his just due in time, of this I am sure.  But even though it would be so sweet, I shall not allow myself to stoop to his level.  They lost their home, had to sell it, and are now gone.  I have good neighbors that purchased it that are dogs lovers and I have known for better than seven years.  This is a good thing.

Hi Mary, Brent here, the Pugman.  It has been months in the working but my next door neighbor was (is) dealing drugs.  The manager of our mobil park got together with me, I took all the pictures of the cars and foot traffic.  Cars for lic. plate numbers.  DINT which it the acronym for Douglas County Inter-agency Narcotics Team wired the manager to make a controled buy.  It was sucessful, one of the individuals was arrested, got out of jail around four hours later.  No funds, jail couldn't keep him.  Over the course of the next month and a half the man threatened to have his friends run over me while riding my bike, that didn't worry me.  No one is that stupid.  Then he started zeroing in on my kids, the pugs.  He called Animal Control for barking, the Officer did come out and saw nothing wrong, plus I have the permits allowing me to exceed the three dog limit due to Combat related PTSD from Vietnam, no problem there.  Then the guy called 20 times and better within a weeks time complaining that I was neglecting and abusing them, the Officer didn't respond because he had already seen my kids and knew that was not the case.  This scum bag then took the situation into his hands and threw out some poison.  Last Thursday I got up an hour earlier than usual because my back was really hurting.  I came into the living room Jeb was up to greet me and wanted outside.  The other three boys just stayed in their nest, Jeb went out and an hour after coming back in had a major seizure (sp) foaming at the mouth, I got him to the Vet but there was nothing could be done.  He had been poisoned.  Had all the boys gone out with him I would have been putting down four pugs instead of just one.  The Animal Control Officer came over to talk to me shortly after I got back from the Vet, the managers mother called him.  He went through my yard, we couldn't find anything.  Of course pugs are scavengers, Jeb found it all and ate it.  He told me he was going to go and have a talk with my Vet.  I do believe he is going to do an investigation.  All the phone calls from this person, no responce from Animal Control and then the poisoning.  Kinda points right to him.  Time will tell, but nothing will bring Jebbers back to me.  Lucas misses him so much, he has lost a good 5 pounds since this happened.  The others are still looking all over the house for him.  That is pretty much it.  Now you know.

Hi Mary, The vet said Jack had basically stubbed or twisted one of his toes. I was relieved. Best of all he did a thorough exam of the patellas and said they are very sound and that he doesn't anticipate any problems there. He thinks he caught it outside and twisted it (the rain left the ground soft making it easy for him to twist it) or that he might have done it while jumping. The vet gave him a shot and some pain meds and Jack is almost back to being good as new! I really appreciate your concern.

Mary, could you look in on Michele Leone's discussion regarding her five year old Pug Max who seems to be having some sort of seizure about a year apart. I did not think it was PDE but I am not qualified to say really. Thank you in anticipation. Helena

Hi Mary!

I just wanted to say that your babies are gorgeous!  What color were Bentley's parents?  I have never seen a Pug that color - striking!  I'm also very sorry to hear about Milo.

Hi Mary,

I know you are looking for a breeder, but I am looking for a silver breeder, and would love to know where you got Bentley. Hope you could help.

When you can't travel with your pugs ...

When traveling and can't take our babies with us we used to have a friend stay with them at the house. She let us know that they spend most of their time by the front door waiting for mama to come home. That broke my heart. Velma even tries to escape to "look for mama." One time it was many hours before she was found -- so so scary. Now we leave the girls at a friends house who has a doggie daycare. They do okay there but really keep to themselves/huddle together in a corner. I'm so conflicted.…See More
