Lucky you !!! Take a video camera with you and film the first few seconds of getting her. (Big regret we didn't do it).
Buy a collar but use a harness to walk her on the lead get her used to wearing the harness early on..

Haha. It's funny that you said that. Anyone who knows me can't even believe that I own a puppy much less have one in my home! It seems when I'm around pet hair I always feel like there is something "in my throat". lol.

- Let's see...I've never had an inside dog. Ever! lol. I've always known that if I did, it would be a pug. There is just something about them. They are soooo cute! I am happily married, have 4 kiddos, and stay at home except one day a week that I minister at a nursing home. (Don't worry. My best friend says I can bring my puppy with me on that day. :))I will have plenty of time to train my new puppy. I just need some help! So..help!!!

- So far I call her Pugsley. This will be not only the first dog I've ever had in my house, but my first Pug. She is adorable but only 4 weeks old so far. Pugsley seems to have stuck for a name. What does everyone think? I have been reading A LOT! but have to admit I'm a little nervous because I don't know what to do with her when I bring her home. lol
Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

- Good morning, hows the new puppy coming along?I had fed my 2 older pugs solid gold wee bits for 5 years. It was great no problems with it.In my quest to find something to help with the anal gland issues, i decided to try wellness core grain free ocean.It is a good food also but dont think anything is really going to help their tooshies.lol.I have an 8 week old pup who i am also feeding the wellness puppy food too early to tell about this one though.As my kids are older ive forgoten how much work and fun a new baby is!

Just a two words of caution. 1- Pugs shed, doesn't matter what time of year, or what color they are, they shed constantly and sometimes they'll even "blow coat". (Imagine a dandilion gone to seed going poof in front of your eyes, that's a pug blowing coat.) 2 - Pugs can be notoriously slow to housebreak, be patient and consistent. Even once they are trained they can have relapses if you don't stick to a schedule with them. Praise and reward works really well in getting them trained. If you aren't sure what time intervals to schedule for the potty breaks, talk to your breeder and get an idea.
Hope you enjoy Pugslife. Take lots of pictures of you fur-baby when you do get her. Everyone here will enjoy seeing them. Again, welcome!
