hello with all this yucky weather, my pugs were getting cabin fever sooooo we went to an agilty fun day!!!!!! I cant believe how much fun we all had!!!!!!! they loved the chute and table...... the weave poles didnt work out.... but my pugs had a fun fun day!!!!! Maryloureds
I commented in the wrong area I think. My others are 13 and 11. Their Christmas pic is old I am afraid. I see you live far away . Bummer. I would love to get a bunch of pug friends together. Happy New Year :)
Youdo have your hands full!!! I have a 1 year old son and a 3 year old daughter, 2 dogs (one pug and one long-haired chi) and then 7 cats.
It is very difficult to train these little guys to go outside and do their business, god knows I wouldn't want to go out in this weather and pee!!!! (or anything else for that matter) So, hang in there do what you can, I never did the crate thing so I'm not good with that part of the discussion.
Do you have any friends with adult dogs that are really good at doing their business outside, someone your dogs could mimic maybe???? That always worked with mine. I always had an older dog around to show my new pup "the ropes".
I also have a 18 month old daughter, so hopping over the gate, grabbing my coat and then hoping to get the dogs outside to do their business, well, it is interesting. I broke my neck 5 years ago, so kinda have to be careful with things. I want them to get the hang of this, and want to have them out with us more then in their crates.
The little darlings are 14 weeks almost 15 weeks old. Samantha is better at it then Peanut. She will go outside faithfully and she is good about it. Peanut seems to think she is primarily in charge, she is very verbal and she will go out and barely do the necessities and come in and then decide to do the rest in the house. I have crates for them, Sam is good and doesnt' mind being in hers and understands the outside thing pretty well, Peanut on the other hand, well she seems to boycott it and she is good at making you think she has 10 squirrels in with her having a fight, terrible.
How old are they Beth??? Right now pretty much eveyone who lives in cold weather is having issue with their dogs that are already house broken let alone ones that are still learning!!!
This weather stinks when your in the process of training your dog to do it's thing outdoors. Be very very patient and very very persistant. Make sure after every meal, first thing in the morning, right before bed, anytime you see them sniffing around you have to bundle up and trek outside with them if necessary and make sure they go.
It can be a battle but don't be lazy about it cause all this will pay off in the end, I promise!!!!
