Handle every stressful situation like a dog.

PUG RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS:
"Pug rescue groups are "grass roots" based organizations that have a common cause, and operate independently from one another. Because the Internet is not based upon geography, we offer referrals to other related groups, and work as a team. " This is how the mission statement of Pug Rescue sounds.

Pug rescue organizations throughout USA, Canada and Australia can be seen here.

Never Have you Pug Stuffed!?

Posted on August 24, 2009 at 5:40am 9 Comments

Foreword. A somehow morbid, something you'd rather not read on Monday story follows.

I've just finished reading "Never Have Your Dog Stuffed: And Other Things I've Learned" by Alan Alda. The book is humorous and witty and enjoyable. A really great reading.

Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are responsible for a pug's energy levels and reserves. Most of the carbohydrates are derived from plant proteins but some sources are more digestible than others. Dog food manufacturers are able to manipulate blood glucose levels for example, by combining different carbohydrates in the types of food they sell.

Corn, barley and wheat are more digestible, thus more preferred by pugs and pug owners all over the world.

The saying "You are what you eat" is very close to the truth when it comes to the nutritional make-up of your pug's diet. Feeding your Pug a well-balanced, high quality diet that is appropriate for his age and activity level is important to his overall condition, health and longevity. Choosing your Pug's diet is the single most important decision you will make that can directly impact your Pug long… Continue

As I've noticed mast cell tumors issues have grown in number of pug cases, I've done some research and the following should answer a pug owner's concerns:

Question :

Hello Dr. Richards, I read through the Dogs/Cancer section, which was very informative, but I still have a couple of questions for you. I have an 8 month old, fixed (he was fixed at 6 months), male pug named Odie. He's healthy in every way except about 2-3 months ago I noticed a growth on his foot, it didn't… Continue

Guess Who's Pug of the Month?

Posted on March 7, 2009 at 9:08am 3 Comments

Nope, it's not Twirly and it's not just one pug either. But bothSassy Sue and Daisy Doo (featured in the image above) are two old friends and I'm happy they've been featured on Pug Speak pug of the month.

As our friend and their mommy Pam says ...

"Sassy is 7 years old; Daisy Doo is 10 months old and really tries Sassy's patience!… Continue
