"I am just now seeing this, or I may have comments back in 2009, but the thing I find interesting is that my Lizzy who is black does not feel the heat like Linus who is fawn. I do make sure to keep them hydrated when it is really warm out, and…"
"Yogi has used a Swamp Cooler Vest most of his life. Here on Maui the temps can get pretty hot. Our little Swamp Cooler has been a lifesaver even indoors at night! You can find these on www.pugsnuggly.com"
"Hi Pati: I have always read that pugs should not be outside in the heat more than 10-15 minutes.
With their underdeveloped respiratory systems, they start breathing heavily after 5-10 minutes.
I had one almost pass out once so I am very…"
"We use the gel ice packs in socks in our little boys bed to help keep him cool, we also keep the temp in house temperate with the AC. You must just make sure they drink regularly and a little paddle pool is really great for the dog and the kids to…"
"Dudley is a good little trooper with the heat, but only to a point that I never let him go past. We also live in S.Florida and for 7-8 months of the year, it's above 80F every day.
I will dampen his head and face (this is never a problem being…"
"Our Hektor has a bark all his own when he meets a vehicle he does not like. You know the Pug on You-Tube that says 'I love you' well Hektor says 'I hate you' . He also has a particular bark for when he is waiting at traffic…"
"Good that you are aware of this problem. I've found that putting a wet tee shirt on pug, Pancake does well, then I frequently re-wet it. Ice is not so good for them, according to a vet, but there is one instance that it is: if, God forbid, your…"
"If you think my page is bad now, should have seen it yesterday, horrible, I've managed to tone it down to what it is now. Should never have started messing around with it. I'll figure it out eventually (I hope). Wow NYC, spent three years…"
Thanks for the compliment. Tojo is indeed beautiful; yours look good too, but it's hard to really see them through the sunglasses i have to wear to look at your page...:-) Ouch.
I'm getting ready to leave Oregon (tomorrow) for 7…"
Tojo is a 2 1/2 year old black, neutered, male pug from (Carla) Rose Pugs in Hermiston, OR. He's got a very sweet demeanor, loves people and all dogs, and loves to be the center of attention. We need more people to be like him!
If you think my page is bad now, should have seen it yesterday, horrible, I've managed to tone it down to what it is now. Should never have started messing around with it. I'll figure it out eventually (I hope). Wow NYC, spent three years on Long Island some years back. That was a huge change for a "country boy" Lot's of things to do that never end. Your going to learn a whole new level of what I like to do best, well, next to the Pugs anyway. Good Luck, I know you will do great!

"I'm lucky as i work from home and i don't travel anywhere unless my furbabes can go,most of ours are day trips and they enjoy it as much as i do as they have many friends out around here,i will not go anywhere unless they can go and…"
When traveling and can't take our babies with us we used to have a friend stay with them at the house. She let us know that they spend most of their time by the front door waiting for mama to come home. That broke my heart. Velma even tries to escape to "look for mama." One time it was many hours before she was found -- so so scary. Now we leave the girls at a friends house who has a doggie daycare. They do okay there but really keep to themselves/huddle together in a corner. I'm so conflicted.…See More
