About my Pugs:
Pearl's Story
I took my husband on a suprise vacation to Baltimore to go see Eddie Vedder in concert on his solo tour. He is the singer for Pearl Jam our favorite band. I worked at an animal shelter and on our way home one of my coworkers called told me a pug named Pearl was just surrendered and she would keep her in my office until I got there. One hour later i met her and we have been together ever since.
Jam's Story
I was working on Christmas Eve when a man called and said he wanted to surrender two 2 year old male pugs.I dont understand how someone could surrender there animals on Christmas Eve but I told him to bring them in for an evaluation. Their names were Dale and Lucky. Dale looked ok he had fleas and needed to be neutered. Lucky was a different story. His skin was so infected it was swollen and grey it looked like the skin of an elephant. He also had major hair loss. The shelter was small and couldnt afford to pay for Lucky's large medical bills so I offered to foster and pay his bills until he was well enough to be adopted. My vet told me every dog she has ever seen named Lucky has has major medical problems so we should change his name but i wanted to let his adoptive parents rename him. About 2 months later the vet noticed he was walking funny. We did xrays and found out he would need hip surgery. By that time he had become part of our family so we adopted and renamed him Jam.

Pearl and Jam are precious!  Our three came to us as "rescues". Our first, Molly, was a breeder give away, who ended up with us through a friend of a friend.  Lexi, our second girl was our third foster, who we just couldn't part with...and Sam our "boy" was surrendered to a shelter and doomed to be put down for "nipping". We agreed to adopt him before even seeing him in person.(But isn't that always the way!) Sam has bad hips and will eventually need surgery.  He also has a urinary tract problem which means he's on prescription food for the rest of his life...but he has given us so much joy and laughs!  He's also the protective one!  No one gets in this house without his approval! :)
