Tilly and Bisquits...has anyone else gone through this with their pugs?

okay so we got our pugs only a few months ago and they both have our hearts, but we've noticed some things about them that raise concern, first is Bisquits the smaller one (in my pictures) she has a LOT of problems breathing the doctor said it could be worse but we'll have to have the nose surgery to widen the nostrils and the one to shorten her long soft pallate, so my question is...have any of your pugs gone through this and is there any advice you can offer us? I was terrified when the doctor… Continue

Mattie you ask about ideas re keeping your babies apart while Bisquits heals. Does Bisquits have any outside stitches? The reason I ask is the only real problem with ours being together after Puga's surgery was with all the biting of faces one of her stitches came out. Didn't cause any problems thank goodness. I pretty much gave up on keeping them separated, it was just more trouble than just monitering them while they played and trying to distract them with something else other than each other. The whole face biting thing is just how they play. But we never left them together when we were gone, we would put Puga in the crate. They would eventually get tired of each other and move on to something else or wear theirselves out and take a nap.

So glad to hear Bisquit is doing good, I can relate to your story aobut how excited they were to see each other. Puga had eyelid surgery a while back and when she came home they were the same way. So hyper and excited to see each other, biting and rolling and running a muck. I had to separte them also, because Puga had stiches and was suppose to take it easy. Yeah right fat chance of that.

How is biscuits?

They are just the opposite. Pixie the blk girl is most def. the more hyper, she is always into something and keeping us laughing. She does the same thing to Puga with the biting her face to get her to play or wake up. Then they both go at it, biting, running, rolling, snorting and snuffleing. I saw where you took Bisquit in for her sugery today, please let me know how she does, I'm sure she will be just fine, but that doesn't keep us from worrying anyway.

I have a brother/sister team that are vet's as friends now for quite some years, I have been and even assisted in a minor way with operations performed on my pugs in the past, trust me please the pain will be minimal and like us depending on the surgery you will be given medications that will minimize the discomfort for them. Everything will be fine, you are a good and loving mom. I worry even if mine stub a toe let alone anything more pronounced. It will be over for her very quickly and she will be back home with you safe and sound!

Bisquits will be just fine the pugs of mine and my prayers and thoughts will be with you, I know how these operation things go. I have had my share and so far everyone has been just fine over all the years I've had pugs. Just know we are with you on this.
