Our yard is surrounded on all sides by chain link fence. There is a big gate that can be pulled across to close off the entrance from the street to the driveway. However, there is a sizable gap between the bottom of the gate and the concrete, one that a pug intent on escape would have no problem making through. You know the old saying, "When pigs fly"? Well, I think it ought to be changed to, "When pugs fly", because I can tell you that is a lot more likely to happen. The following story took place August 1, 2009, Mr. Foo was just 16 weeks old.

It was early morning. Mr. Foo and I went outside to let him take his morning constitutional. It was a warm morning, beautiful and sunny.
