Holidays Are Nearly Over :(

Posted on January 20, 2010 at 2:00pm 4 Comments

As my holidays are nearly over, I look back at all the fun we have had with our Pugelicious "aka Fifi the Pug Princess". What started with a bit of fun in my back yard with our dog just after Christmas has evolved into something else.

When I was cleaning out my daughter's things, I found an old pair of her baby bathers. Being bored I suggested to my son we put them on her. He thought that was a huge joke. As I love photography - I took copious quantities of photos of… Continue

It's Hot!!!

Posted on January 11, 2010 at 4:04am 7 Comments

I live in Australia and we are currently going through a heat wave. It was 42 degrees here and it has been a nightmare trying to keep the animals cool. Our princess pug in particular struggles a great deal in the heat. She absolutely loves to swim, but is not a particularly good swimmer. We have to be very careful whenever she is around water that we are with her - just like having a little baby around the water.

Does your Pug swim, or is it just mine that is challenged in this… Continue

Christmas Pudding

Posted on January 3, 2010 at 8:44pm 5 Comments

Fifi has put on a bit of pudd over the Christmas break. We were entertaining over Christmas and while our backs were turned she had jumped on the table and was scoffing down the Camenbert Cheese and crackers.

She has to be eating and drinking whatever we are - anything goes as you can see from the photograph. I had put my glass down while I was taking a swim and there she was with her head in the glass.

Do you have problems like this with your Puggie or is it just my diva… Continue

Hi Debbie, thank you for asking us to be your friends. Yes, PDE is dreadful, it seems to feature more in America lines but all Pug owners have to be vigilant. Mine is half American but his line appears to be free of this. It would seem to be the usual problem of inbreeding. I was pointed to the American Pug Club who are working very hard to eradicate it. As far as Pugs needing to eat what we do. It's part of the "Human in Training" syndrone all humans must go through and obey in order to be on the pugs "properly trained " slave list.

I just checked out your Pugelicious blog. Amazing! Love those pics. How do you get her to keep the headbands and stuff on her head. It's a big production getting pictures of Winnie in hats a such, but your girl looks like she actually likes wearing things on her head.

When you can't travel with your pugs ...

When traveling and can't take our babies with us we used to have a friend stay with them at the house. She let us know that they spend most of their time by the front door waiting for mama to come home. That broke my heart. Velma even tries to escape to "look for mama." One time it was many hours before she was found -- so so scary. Now we leave the girls at a friends house who has a doggie daycare. They do okay there but really keep to themselves/huddle together in a corner. I'm so conflicted.…See More
