I don't know how I lived without a Pug now I have one, this pretty much sums it all up. I kept thinking of my Pug doing all of those things- all of them are true!

Well my poor Hektor is a sweaty lad and he has his face cleaned twice a day, so tell Spud how lucky he is. I use a sensitive baby wipe mostly and don't dry it unless I am going to put something like Vaseline on it. I used to use this more often on o…

The manual has all these acronyms for different things, lots of good that does for me, I need to know what the abbreviations mean, the manual may as well be written in Martian for as much as I understand it.

The fawn pugs are "showy-er". Pancake is quite striking though, she has a very shine coat, a neat little body(she's only 15lbs.), a double twist and a pretty face. Interestingly, big butch men really fall for her...it's funny to see. She's the only pug I've had or been around (of hundreds) that doesn't shed!
My Mum ,now 94, was an internationally known breeder (and show judge). She bred fawns so I got my own black pugs. Turns out to be also a wardrobe necessity since I wear mostly black.
Mum thinks the black ones tend generally to be more intelligent. I can certainly tell you they need their glands expressed much more often and have an oilier coat. When they get nervous and pop out with dandruff, as many dogs do, you sure can see it.
One thing to lookout for with the black puggies is their black coat absorbs heat MUCH more, so you must really watch they don't overheat in summer. I found that you can put a little wet doggie tee shirt on them in summer, bring a spray bottle to keep it wet, and that does well. You need to start with a tee that is tight because they stretch out when wet. Of course this will be good for Spud, too, in the heat.
