Al's Birthday Cake

Alexander's turning 1 next week and I'm thinking of buying him a birthday cake. I saw recipes posted by Helena in another discussion here, but I don't have an oven and  well, I don't know how to…Continue

Pug pimples?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Mister Bentley Jun 3, 2010. 14 Replies

So I was wrestling with Alexander a while ago and I realized he has a pimple-like bump on his chin. It's sort of pink and small, like a human pimple. I looked closer and realized there were two more.…Continue

leash training

I was wondering how you leash trained your pugs. I'm having a problem with Alexander. At first I used to walk him without any hassle. Now, he's developed a habit of pulling the other way whenever I…Continue

Chewing and biting stuff

My pug Alexander is 8 months old and we've just about trained people biting out of him. My problem is I live in Japan and, well, basically most furniture are within pug reach. We leave him for about…Continue

About my Pugs:
Alexander loves: carrots, walking (well, bunny hopping most of the way), trying to pick a fight with the St. Bernard at the end of the street, eating grass and dirt
Alexander hates: not being the center of attention, things being out of reach, riding in the car, my husband's guitar playing, any sort of cleaning materials

Alexander's first picture, taken with my old camera. I've forgotten how small he was then...before he became too fat. :D

Poor Alexander

Posted on October 29, 2010 at 6:57am 12 Comments

So everyone's really acting weird lately. I really don't understand. First, when mommy sits on the couch, it usually means it's cuddle time and I go up to join her. Now, her lap keeps getting smaller. I try to find space but then she has the nerve to send me back to the floor! Personally, I think she should cut down on those scones and cookies. It's all going in her midsection. She can't even keep up with me on our walks.

That's the next thing...I have to sit…

Why I Love my Pug

Posted on June 6, 2010 at 8:13am 7 Comments

What is it that makes me love Alexander so much? He gnaws on furniture, destroys my clothes, leaves chunks of hair over every surface of the house, makes his poop roll around on his toilet leaving poop marks which I have to clean. He is hyperactive, messy and generally a handful. No matter what he does, however, I can't even bring myself to get mad at him. He looks up at me with those big eyes full of love. He jumps up and down with excitement…

Play-biting

Posted on May 18, 2010 at 8:36pm 4 Comments

So Alexander's still play-biting a bit when he can't help himself, but at least he responds well to a stern "no." I haven't had scratches on my hands for weeks now. It's so funny trying to come up with methods to stop his play-biting. One time, I was giving him a rub on the couch and he started nipping at my hand. I took his tail and whenever he nipped, I moved his tail closer to his mouth so he won't grab my hand. I thought it would be funny if he realized he was biting his own tail. But then,… Continue

Funny Moment

Posted on May 12, 2010 at 9:22am 2 Comments

I took Alexander out for a walk, but he just wouldn't do his business. It was getting too cold (weird this time of year) so I took him back inside. I did some paperwork and he pooped on the floor when I wasn't looking. When I saw him he was just sitting there staring at his poop. Then he started poking it with one paw. He did this once or twice, like he was expecting it to move or something. Well, I cleaned it up, but I was laughing so I don't think he got the message that he should never do it… Continue

Well hello to you Cecilia, what is it....next month for you and the baby?  Lucas, yes little lucas.  He will be 9 months old the end of this month and he is the biggest of all the kids.  When he stands on his hind legs his head comes up to my belt and he weights in a 30 pounds right now.  Misti will be three months old end of this month.  Lucas and her are inseperable, Lucas has been her second mom from her being about two days old.  He will let her tear him up and is so, so gentle with her.  He even protects her from Malia if he thinks mom is being to hard on her.  He is the most incredible guy, he is in a class all his own.

Hi Cecilia, yes, her name is Misty, it was going to be Abner but I was so busy helping Malia this time that I just assumed it would be another boy. Had to remove the sac for her massage the little one to invigorate the circulation and breathing also to expunge her effluents. I was doing all this while Malia was taking a break and helping a little bit with cleaning her face (which I'm glad she did). Then she was having a bit of trouble with the umbilical cord so I needed to step in and take care of that for her, (had to remove the placenta and such). Once I got the big stuff out of her way she went ahead and finished up with the cord. About 30 minutes later she was recovered enough that I helped attach the little one for the first feeding. Her mouth is small and she couldn't properly latch on to the tankers in the rear so I got her started on the front ones. Helped her through that and then snuggled them up so they could both go to sleep.
