Sorry Carol that I have been so tardy in replying, so much going on in my life presently. I am glad you have decided to tell people about Leah and how you helped her extend her life. What to call it, what about "My life with Leah, her Last Years". It would hep so many here some who have yet to face what you have but sadly it happens to so many, some not in the prime of life as Leah was. Thank you again for even considering it.

How are you doing? This is such a bad time of the year I always say, though there is never a good time. Remember we are all here for you.

Carol, I was wondering if you could put an article on about Leah's illness when you feel up to it. The reason is that so many people have to face problems with elderly Pugs just as you did but the fact that Leah was so lucky to have you who worked tirelessly to keep her would give so many hope that they would keep their Pug for much longer than perhaps their Vet will say they have. I think this would be good for everyone. Thank you in anticipation, but only when you are ready. Helena

Oh, Carol, I share your pain as you mourn for sweet Leah.  I just know she is romping at the bridge keeping busy while she waits for you.  My grandma always told me that dogs don't have to live as long as us because they don't need that long to learn to love.  That must be doubly true for sweet puggies!  I pray you will always remember the good times.  Pug Hugs from Prescott, AZ.  <3

Thank you for the post.  I knew the pug lovers on PugSpot would want to know.  I feel so bad for you.  I only had Gretta for 9 years, but when she went over the bridge, it was not expected.  She was being treated for upper respitory issues and on two real strong antibiotics.  I left for work that morning and fifteen minutes after I got there, my wife called and said that she thought my Gretta just passed away.  I flew home and found her next to my easy chair, where we used to sit and watch TV.  My wife said she coughed once and laid her head down.  It was one of the saddest days of my life.  I can only imagine how you are feeling right now.  It does get better with time.  My Lexi is helping ease the pain, but it's still there.  Maybe in the future you might think about a new puggie.  It does help.  I also joined up with MN.Midwest Pug Rescue and try to help out anyway I can.  I hope all is well and stays well with you and keep in touch with us on both sites.   Doc and Lexi

Carol Wee Woman just told me about Leah, I am oh so very sorry.  Leah was and always will be such a special little lady, just adorable in more ways then one.  You were so blessed to have her for so long, and I know our heart is feeling the pain right now, but as we all know she is now running free at Rainbow Bridge.  RIP sweet Leah.  And while you are entering that beautiful place, look for my Lily and Lulu, they will show you all around until you and mom meet again.

Oh Carol, my heart aches for you.  I know the devestation you feel right now with a hole in your heart bigger than the Grand Canyon could ever be.  I lost Walker January 1st this year at 13 years.  Then I lost Jebbers at 4 yrs and two weeks, November 8th.  I'm still reeling from the losses.  It is said with time......with time.  My boys will always be with me, always.  These are the cherished things you, I, and too many others here have left.  It is good.  The moments, the joy, the love....that will never leave us, never.  I cry for you, dear lady.  I know the lose.
