We started Munson out in a laundry basket with pillows. We found that he when he was in his kennel all he did was cry, so after 2 sleepless nights the laundry basket was our saving grace. Once he was able to jump out on his own, he started sleep where ever he wanted which was usually with me or my daughter. Good luck on your new baby once you get him home!

Hi Lynette

I would say for a new puppy that would be the best thing to do until he or she is potty trained. :) We had Tifa in a kennel at the beginning but eventually she got used to a pillow or her bed. More pillows than anything.Tifa is spoiled. She has a big pillow at the end of our bed that she sleeps on and most of the time we find her sleeping between us in the morning. Good luck and congrats on your new baby :)

Hey Lynette. Well pugs are great. I have had Munson for 3 years now (got him at 6 weeks) and he is a joy. He was so easy to potty train. The biggest thing with Pugs is the shedding. They shed a lot. I actually take munson to the groomers every month tho get his under coat cut. It doesn't stop the shedding but it does minimize it. Also, mine is a 1 person dog. He loves everyone, but follows me everywhere I go. When I go to bed, he has to be right there. Same with sitting on the couch, he is always laying on my leg. I love my pug, and I hope when you get your, you will love it as well. They are tons of fine!!

Hi, Lynette - Welcome to pugslife, it is such a great site for pug lovers! I have wanted a pug for many years - but waited until it was just the right time. We have had Duchess for almost three months and she is a great addition to our family! Pugs have such a sweet charm about them... it's no wonder you are drawn to them.

Thanks Jessica. She is doing much better now. We dont know if it was a seizure or something she ate. But a deffinate scare. And about the eating issue. she ate one of my earrings once. I didnt know she ate it tell i was cleaning dropping up in my backyard. lol. Thank god it didnt tear her insides. I watch her all the time now. But so far she is doing fine. Thanks for asking :)

When you can't travel with your pugs ...

When traveling and can't take our babies with us we used to have a friend stay with them at the house. She let us know that they spend most of their time by the front door waiting for mama to come home. That broke my heart. Velma even tries to escape to "look for mama." One time it was many hours before she was found -- so so scary. Now we leave the girls at a friends house who has a doggie daycare. They do okay there but really keep to themselves/huddle together in a corner. I'm so conflicted.…See More
