Pugs are such intelligent, sensitive little clowns that I was curious what tricks your pug(s) know. Mr. Foo knows how to:
sit on command
stay on command
come on command
lay down on command
For his tricks, I give him the sit command and then follow with the command for the trick, so it would go like this...
Saying Prayers:
sit
down
pray (that means stay in the down position, head completely down on the floor, until the next command is given)
AMEN! (that means he can sit up and claim his treat)
Give Me Your Hand (aka: Shake)
sit
give me your hand (I point at his paw and he lifts it shake, then he puts it down)
other (I point to the other paw, he lifts it and we shake, the he puts it down and claims his treat)
POW! (aka: Dead Dog)
sit
POW! (My trigger hand points as I command " Pow" and he immediately drops to the down position, waiting to be given his treat and to return to sit position)
Dancing With The Stars
sit
Dance with the stars! (I hold treat overhead, he raises on to hind legs and gives a turn, then down on all fours to claim his treat)
Give Kisses
sit
give kisses (Do I really need to explain this one? LOL)
Circus Pup
sit
stay
(I walk to other end of the room with a hula hoop in hand, hold it about 5-6 inches above the ground, holding my treat hand behind the hoop to lure him through)
come (Mr. Foo runs to and jumps through the hoop, then stands waiting for his treat
These are all of the tricks he does successfully 99% of the time. He is currently in the process of learning to roll over. He doesn't like to roll on to his back, but the last couple of days he has bee performing it with less resistence. I expect he will have this one down within the next week or two as long I work him on it.
Please share with me the tricks your pug does. If they are different from mine, please try to describe how you teach it. Mr. Foo and I are always looking for new challenges. : )
