How long do you take your pugs out for i have been told so many different stories just wondered what you think as you own pugs i have been told by people who dont have any? Where do you take them i think because Lola has had trouble with her eyes from 10 wks i worry where to take her incase.
It's hard i know;but if you can buy a dog stroller;that helps alot.I give my little ones play time in our yard but;if you want to go on a nice walk put your puggie in the stroller and walk.It can be fun for you both alot of people here have them.
Our Pug, Pickles, loves to take walks. We live in Michigan and take her for 45 minutes to 1 hour walks almost every day and all 4 seasons. In the Summer we take her for walks after the sun goes down and take water with us. She loves to run on the beach at our Lake Michigan cottage and darts in and out of the water.
My boy Duncan and his Boston Terrier sis Lola like walks but LOVES when I take them to the park. We have a wonderful dog friendly park near us and they are so good I can let them off the leash to explore and run, well Duncan doesn't run much. Duncan stares at me when it's time and will bark at me like to say " what are you waiting for, I want my walk" and when you say the word park, he goes nuts!! Jumping and running and almost whining he gets so excited! The only other time he shows that much excitement is when we pull up to a drive through.... he only gets a munchkin every once in awhile but he thinks if he barks at the voice coming out of the box they will know that's an order for munchkins:)
I walk Piper at least twice a day for about 10-12 mins each time and she loves it. In fact if I say the word she follows me around the house whining until we go. Piper's left cornea ulcerated when she was 8 1/2 weeks old and the meds she was on for a few weeks kept the pupil dilated which meant no sun light for her. Her eye was also several times the normal size and she could not close it. (see the photo in my pictures.) We also go to the dog park several times a week and even though she is blind in the left eye now you would never know. I would suggest having your pug puppies tear production checked at it's first vet visit to avoid what happened to Piper.
we try to walk our pug 3x a day or 4x a day.maybe 30 minutes in the morning,15 minutes in the afternoon and 15 -20 minutes in the evening before going to sleep.our pug milo loves to walk specially winter time and when the weather is mild and cold.but during summer 10 minutes walk 3x a day is just enough.it seems that he will have a heat stroke during summer.because he almost loose his breath. so its a must to take with me water whenever we had a long tour.

Twirly Says. . .
Twirly is our resident pug. When she's not napping, she likes to talk. and talk. and talk! Pug health. Pug training. Pug trivia. Pug, pug, pug ... all the time!
Do you know all about pugs? Not until you hear what Twirly Says.
Oh how cute is she! Reminds me of the day i chose Milo. He was like that! Same sort of build, just as hyper! But i didnt get him for another 6 weeks so he was less crazy when i got him :( Lovely little Pug you have!

I think I know that feeling, I have said this before and shall do so again. I have had a motto for many years now, it goes like this: One is not enough and two is one to few.
