To Neuter! Or Not to Neuter! ..That is the question.

I Don't know whether or not to. (Im talking about Milo).

I was mentioning it to my mum but she was like "He needs his bits to show!" But i said I'm not going to show him because of his health. I'm never gonna breed him anyway and that's all their purpose is for really.

What  benefits are there to neutering?

Any bad things?

I was thinking about it because some times he'll want to hump his teddy or sometimes he'll climb onto Peawee and try. I tell him "Off" and he stops but hes panting and tries it again. So, maybe if i got him neutered he wouldnt want to hump like that? Its not all the time, just now and then. I also dont want him to go running after bitches in heat or anything.

Its a tough decision.. Im not sure what the benefits of it are.

In the States the 'bits' are not needed for agility. Only a woman could say that about the bits, never find a man saying that, unless they are crazy!
I will need to decide the very same thing with Clyde who is 6 months old now. I've been told by almost ALL of my friends and family that I really should go and get him neutered without a doubt. My sister swears by this and she has 7 dogs. Also, male dogs who are not neutered are quite prone to testicular cancers and health scares such as that. If you neuter your male dog, this is completely avoiding that nasty hurdle. Something else, if you do decide to neuter Milo, it may assist with his seizures (purely a possibility) decreasing? and dogs do tend to put on weigh more easily than before if they ARE neutered, they can tend to get a little bit lazier, and having them neutered can calm them down. Perhaps even get it done is another few months when Milo is diagnosed accurately so you can focus on the main issue for now. I would say I will go in favour of neutering Clyde.
I hope to get Milo neutered before two years of age anyway, hes 1 year next month. Our vet usually has neutering offers on so i will look out for them i think :p

Just lately hes been a bit grumbly at males who he is normally fine with and scratching at next doors fence whos female is in heat and trying to hump peawee so hes a bit on edge right now so hopefully neutering will make him less interested at getting to her.
