Anyone have any experience with their pug acting strange after they lost one or more of their brothers or sisters?  Kloe for about a month or so has been acting a bit strange, not licking her plate clean, eating her food slowly. :)  Lately she hasn't been eating very enthusiastically at all.  Today she barely touched her breakfast.  Yesterday she got excited about her dentastix, but ate it slowly on the couch.  She also seems to have developed a bit of a runny nose, but thats just yesterday and today.  We have seen a lot of dogs in the last few days so I hope she hasn't picked up some disease, but that wouldn't explain her month long funk.  It could just be the loss of Jake and Abbey, but I'm getting a bit worried.  Her yearly checkup and shots aren't until the end of the month, but I made an appointment to see the Vet for Wednesday anyways because of the runny nose and the not eating.

Took Kloe to the Vet today for her annual checkup.  She is perfectly healthy.  Didn't do any blood test, but she seems great.  So I'll keep an eye on her and see how things go.  Maybe she is just changing a bit?  Still seems strange for a pug to not be fixated on her food all of a sudden! :)

Konrad as i for one can say buggy has had those moments he was quiet not eating like the piggy-pug as i call it,he just seemed alone and lost, for me it was good that i would again lose my heart to another and i kept rescuing it seemed buggy always perked back up.After Darla though buggy seemed to have a rough time of it it was like Darla sent bear to me in some way it was like i could feel her there it was a strange feeling and after bear was there buggy just seemed to pick right up as time went on he was buggy again just full of energy as he still does this he and bear run together, they'll romp together and zoe is so much like darla, she has a mouth as well and she will go after them i laugh she is so much like darla there are days she gives me a run lol.It can be hard on a pet when they lose their other brother or sister some will get ill as they miss them so as i told pam it's like darla is keeping me together and helping me press on to do the thing that means the world to me and that is "Rescue'it's my passion, they are my passion and i will do this till i take my last breath, they need someone and maybe i can't rescue all but,i can be there for most i do all this in Darla's memory,if i can at least save one that is something although i usually wind up doing the two come together thing lol.I hope kloe do okay as i know it's hard well maybe you will be able to one day find another sweet soul to add to your lives,good-luck my thoughts are with you.

when one animal dies, the survivor alters his or her normal behavioral routine—perhaps reducing the amount of time devoted to eating or sleeping, adopting a body posture or facial expression indicative of depression or agitation, or generally failing to thrive.”

They grieve just like people do. I have seen this several times with mine.
