Just curious as to what you use to clean under your pugs nose fold and how often. and what you use for ear cleaning and how often. Spud hates both of these tasks and runs when he sees me coming with stuff to clean him up! LOL

we use a non scented baby wipe and then dry it off with a tissue under his nose fold

Ive heard of vaseline etc but im worried about it being moist under there.

Spud always scratches around there even when its clean and rubs his face on his leg.

When i clean it theres always lots of little black hairs, i think thats what bothers him.

And with his ears, even though they are nice and clean and pink, he still scratches. It drives me insane!!

some advice is muchly appreciated :)

Well my poor Hektor is a sweaty lad and he has his face cleaned twice a day, so tell Spud how lucky he is. I use a sensitive baby wipe mostly and don't dry it unless I am going to put something like Vaseline on it. I used to use this more often on our previous Pug, Henry but Hektor does not really need it. I think sometimes they still feel that there is something there even though we think we have cleaned it and the Vaseline soothes it. I have tried everything I know on Hektor and something work and other things don't. I have tried cider vinegar on his nose fold but it did not make a bit of difference, my Husband suggested that I use a mixture of cider vinegar and honey (which is an antibiotic type thing). I am afraid I haven't tried that yet as I think Hektor would break his neck trying to lick if off, Ha Ha!
I think with the ears, unless they are dirty it is a matter of them getting hot and uncomfortable basically because their ears fold, you find it happens to spaniels and poodles as well.
