NEED HELP,PLEASE.
HELLO MY MY PUG IS JUST 3YRS OLD,NAME PINGY,FEMALE.SHE IS NOT CAME IN HEAT MORE THAN 6MONTHS.HOW MANY TIMES PUGS COMES IN HEAT AND LAST MONTH SHE GOT INFECTION IN URINE PASSAGE.BLOOD USE TO COME.BUT WE THOUGHT SHE CAME INTO HEAT BT VAT TOLD SHE HAS GOT INFECTED.SHE IS OTHERWISE HEALTHY.EATS PROPERLY AND ALL.VAT IS SAYING WE NEED TO GIVE INJECTION THEN SHE WILL COME IN HEAT.BT WE DOUBT ABOUT IT.IT SHOULD COME NATURAL.

This is a good place to come for help as we have good people here,maybe someone here can help,find out what other's here have to say before you go ahead with what your vet wants to do.As i only have seniors and they are all fixed,i myself don't believe in breeding if i get pugs they all will be fixed.good luck.

Hi,
I'd be concerned about the infection, first of all. Has it cleared up? Was Pingy on antibiotics? Please follow your vet's recommendations on treating this problem as it could jeopardize her reproductive health. Why do you want your female to come into heat? It sounds like this is new to you; has your vet recommended having your female spayed? PDCA (Pug Dog Club of America) recommends the breeding of pugs be left to experienced breeders. They have some some excellent teaching material on their site: http://pugs.org/
As to your question about how often does a female come into heat; it is about every 6 months, although it is not uncommon for one to miss a heat, especially if there is underlying infection involved. Please listen to your vet, and should you question him or her, please go to another veterinarian that you trust. Keep us updated and our thoughts and prayers are with you and little Pingy.

thanks,yah she is absolutely fine now.no prob.i wanted her to come in heat cause she is wit me siince 1yr,1st time she couldnt consive next time i didnt do meting this time she didnt came.so was worried abt her reproductive system.hop she is fine.vet is not so good else no1here in india whom i can consult.wat does spayed mean??she didnt took any antibiotics.vet gav 1injection then aft that she was k.

Most of us have our pugs fixed so they can not have puppies ,i myself believe in having animals fixed so this can not happen as in most cases it's for the best.Hope everything is well with your little one as she is cute.take care.

O.K.-I had a female pug.Same situation blood in urine.Dont freak out.The vet put her on antibiotics and it stopped in about
3 days.Its usually a urinary infection.
