Our Padrona is no longer a puppy she is in heat and I have a few questions in regards to how long she will be in heat and also the pro's and cons of spaying after she is done her cycle. My major concern is health issues if she is not spayed and also concerns with her being put under for the spaying because from what I have read pugs do not do well under anesthesia. Any information is welcomed!
From start to finish give or take two weeks, if not wishing pups or showing, spaying does have health benefits and is considered by some to add to longevity. A good vet will asperate the dog while under, the operation is short in duration, the worst part (which isn't bad) is when the animal starts coming out of the "sleep" Unless you wish for a discription of that I will not offer one. However, very little if anything to worry about, you are exibiting parental concern. Good for you, that means to me that a whole lot of love is happening. If anything the biggest worry is the keep the incision site clean until stitches either disolve or are removed. Hope this helped to alliviate any worries.

Do you know all about pugs? Not until you hear what Twirly Says.
Oh how cute is she! Reminds me of the day i chose Milo. He was like that! Same sort of build, just as hyper! But i didnt get him for another 6 weeks so he was less crazy when i got him :( Lovely little Pug you have!
