Hello Pugs & People, Just wanted to share something new I found out about today. Puga woke up Friday with something that looked like a abcess or something on one of her toes. I thought she had gotten bitten by a spider or some other vicious insect. She kept licking it constantly. Waited over the weekend to see if it would pop or go away. When it didn't and started to smell we headed to the vet. Turns out it is something called a Histiocytoma, which is a benign skin tumor. They said they are quite common and just spring up all the sudden. They are treated with antibiotics and a topical ointment and can take as long as 3 monthe to go away. I had never heard of such so I figured most of you had not either. Leave it to Puga, if there is some strange thing that can happen it's going to happen to her. She is giving me quite an education in dog malladys. Not to mention vet bills. Oh well whats a parent to do. Well there you have it and now you have learned a new term..lol.. Take care, Terri, Puga & Pixie...
